Hi its all very well helping out a brother in the ministry but the problem is Jesus put an end to all of mans ways of worship and what you have today is apostate ALL OF THEM ! . They all say they follow the bible but the early Christians used to share out what they have. Where is the command being taken seriously when Jesus says to give up all possessions and to live day to day. The cry from Jesus in revelation is ” get out of her my people” telling us to flee from religion and worship Jesus with spirit and truth. The true church is one not made by human hands. Many Christians are enslaved by dogma and denominationalism. Who do you belong to your church or Jesus. Many Christians are being led by the spirit of the world which is in the churches. They will blindly follow their church into destruction. Wake up brothers and sisters.

there are so many poor people who dont even has food to eat so we being children of God are we concerned about poor and giving? No not all it might be pastors or belivers God expects that everyone who has should share with their fellowmen and Jesus said once u may prophesie drive demons do miracles but if u dont feed hunger your unfit to be in the kingdom of God so my dear brothers and sisters in christ dont judge anyone do your part help the poor widows orphans whoever in need God will be pleased with u but dont give money for greedy one it might be pastors or anybody Stay blessed

I think that is a great point but looking at the life of Jesus, He did not have what this world might construct as “affluence” but He surely had “influence”. I think the point is that you don’t need affluence to have influence. If you have the Holy Spirit then you are set to do many things.

Matthew 11:16-19 well describes this argument. John did not eat,they said he had a devil. Jesus was exact ‘opposite’ of John-eating + drinking,they said he was gluttonous. It appears that regardless of a minister’s handling of finances,we will always fault them. If they are too broke,they are irrelevant/not practical for 21st century. If they sail in favor and prosper,they are thieves!

I fellowship at Jubilee Christian Church-Parklands,Nairobi,and this thing keeps coming up. While I may not have the space to expound on it,let me point a few facts; tithing precedes Law of Moses. We find it in Genesis. I often wonder;if people under the Law were required to part with 10%,how much more us who are under the Grace. Tithing was a minimum,not a rule. Why harass a man of God who goes beyond the minimum?

Rick Warren has explained severally that the only reason God made him a celebrity,is for influence……now he can speak to presidents,he can reach out to starving villages in Africa. Read Psalms 72. He got affluence and influence to help those without either!

You won’t see tithing on wages and paychecks in either testament. Only landowners and ranchers were responsible for payment of tithes and only collected them on agricultural produce. Jesus NEVER asked for tithes, nor did the apostles. Jesus collected money FOR the poor, he didn’t collect it FROM the poor. Tithing brings down the curse of the Law (Gal.3:10) because you can’t keep all the Law perfectly, and arent’ allowed to keep just a bit of it and forget the rest. The church leaders are quick to tell little Christians if they need something, but if your teeth are rotting out from lack of dental care and the landlord is about to throw you out, just try going to the church office for help. They’ll only tell you to quit being so lazy and take an extra job. This giving thing should work both ways.

real labour job! seriously!!!!!! you abviosly have know idea what pastoring a church is all about.24/7 is an understatement.my father pastors i know first hand your life is not your own.the church must vote on the pastors salary by law its recorded during open business meetings if the congregation deems that pastor worthy than thats what their worth god bless all the men and women in the lords service and bless those faithful and obedient tithers you cannot out give god.

Rick, it is not a sin to tith. I believe God has a purpose for all the things he commanded those to whom He did in the law. I would that you search this from the scritures. What was the purpose for which God gave the commandment to tith to the Israelites? Was Abraham commanded to tith? Was Apostle Paul, Peter, commanded to pay tithes, or did they ever mention about tith paying in their congregation? Giving to the furtherance of the gospel has always been of freewill and not a command. Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils he acquired from the war he won to the king of Salem Melchizedek, why because God gave him the victory. In other words, Abram was blessed of God. It is never said in the scriptures that the Apostle Paul taught in the churches in Ephesus, Corinth, Colosy, Thessalonica about tithes. Why is tithing a major theme now for the church to survive today? Is it not God's church? Are we beginning to help God to survive his church or we should just preach the truth which sets people free who inturn give offerings and funds to the church. It is the truth of the gospel that sets you free from selfcenteredness and makes you think of others more than yourself. But sorry to say this, not many preacher do know the truth, so the preach only what they know. Amen

Well said. I believe we shouldn't bother our minds in trying to put rich pastors down or defending them because we donot have a personal account of their life to know exactly if they live an extravagant life. If some pastors have mansions on earth here, is it detestable to the eyes of God? I don't think so because Jesus has prepared for us mansions in heaven. If a pastor has a private jet is it unpleasing to God? I don't think so because the jet would help him fly from one meeting to the other without the usual delays or check-in time with the public flights. Where the problem lies is, the understanding they have in preaching what they preach. God is not a respecter of persons, so when He says he has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heaven places in Christ Jesus, He means we are all blessed. Now how to make the blessings materialize in our life is where believers get it wrong. There is a place for a pastor to ask from his congregation but the congregation should understand the scripture in 2 corinthians 9:7,8; 7- Everyman according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give Not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. So believers give not because they are forced to, or they are urged to but because they love God and they give for the furtherance of the gospel. But if you are not versed with what the word says, you will not be giving with the right mind and again if you are not being fed with the truth then you donot have to promote that gospel which is not the truth. It has been perveted. You have to study the word and let the Holy Spirit teach you so you can know how, when and where to give so that it shall be given unto you in return. Are we surposed to read the old testamant and present it to saints today as it was with the preasts in those days? 2 Corinthians 3:13,14 & 15 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Malachi 1:1,2a- 1:1 The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. 1:2a I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? What was malachi saying here. Is this a burden of the word of the Lord to christians? Are christians asking God "Wherein hast thou loved us?" Malachi 2:1,2 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2:2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Is God saying here that we christians are cursed? or Jesus Christ became sin for us, was cursed for us, forsaken for us and we are now blessed because of our unity with Him. Malachi 3:10 Are we paying tithes to prove God if He will bless us? Then we donot believe Ephesians 1:3 and so we are already in unbelieve and we wunder why we donot look blessed, feel blessed and act blessed. If you donot see yourself blessed in the inside, then you can't see it on the outside. Remember, when you pray, believe that you have received it and you shall see it.
