- 10% was not the minimum amount for Israel. They gave less than 10% at times. (Hebrews 7:4; Numbers 31:28-30)
- The New Testament does not command, address, or mention tithing to the Gentiles who are unfamiliar with Jewish practices.
- Jesus’ own ministry operated from freewill offerings. He also commanded the disciples to receive freely. (Luke 8:1-3, Matthew 10:8-10)
- The children of God under his family are not taxed. They are free to give (Matthew 17:25; Galatians 4:5)
- Tithing was not a requirement prior to the Mosaic law considering Jacob freely offered God 10%. (Genesis 28:20)
- None of the Israelites tithed while outside of the promised land. (Deuteronomy 12:5)
- Abraham’s tithe was under the Old Covenant, which was established before Moses and was also fulfilled (Genesis 3; Hebrews 8:13)
- Giving would be the only spiritual gift with a minimum requirement and not led by the Spirit.
- There are no commands to modify tithing with how we practice it today, so people have to make up correlations to get it to fit into the church.
- Israelites who did not grow food or raise animals did not tithe. (Leviticus 27:30)
- Giving is not by compulsion. (2 Corinthians 9:6-9)
- The Levitical priests were required to serve 25 years, and just like tithing, the New Testament doesn’t recall this requirement either
- Unless giving 10% is the spiritual nature of God’s holiness, then it falls under the same classification of other interim tokens in the Old Covenant that Christ fulfilled

Those who pay or receive tithes are totally blind to the message of light.
Dan says
@Achiyah. I’m not a pro-tither, but I think it is terribly unfair to characterize all who tithe and all who receive tithe as blind. The matter of tithing is really of little ultimate importance, either way. People who tithe are not ignorant of grace, and are not walking in darkness. Frankly, even though I don’t believe tithe in a requirement, I applaud those who do tithe because they are putting their faith into practice. It is not legalism, anymore than Christian who refuse to use foul language are being legalistic.
Garth says
Dan. Although choosing for myself to not tithe, after tithing for many years. I agree with you and your analogy is true. My feelings are that its a matter between God and the non or tither. There’s many aspects of Christian life that way, if we understand His Word.
Seldom do I enter debates about tithing and several other matters, for the above reason I’ve given. However, I’ve known folk who are ‘hot gospellers’ for tithing, yet blindly refusing to ignore certain facts, self evident in their lives and church! I see their continued tithing in the face of nil blessings ‘overflowing warehouses’ etc. As the recognized long held identifier of insanity eg To keep repeating the same action[s] over and over–expecting a different result! Anyway, giving to God is between Him and us-surely?

Yeah who needs tithing anyway? Who needs the ten commandments anyway? Who needs any type of system or objective standard for church support or discipline? Yeah let’s just forget about paying church bills, the Holy spirit will keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The Holy Spirit will pay all the bills and take care of missionary needs. I live %100 on Holy Spirit….I’m also a breatharian, I never eat food, I just eat air. As a matter of fact I’m gonna tell Mr. Obama to be a breatharian and rely %100 on Holy Spirit to provide it all. Tithing?! Ppsshaww! That’s old school when folks were doing things, not for today.
Jared Brian says
Anonymous, seriously? Someone disagrees with one rule while giving scriptural support, and you practically accuse them of burning bibles. Your emotional discharge, overblown accusations, and lack of reasoning is evidential that you’ve figured out ALL biblical truth. Ppsshaww! you’re the guy who wrote the bible.
anonymous says
Yes you are right of course there is no need for tithing because the Great Commission is finished and every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue has Bibles in their own language, radio programs, TVs, churches, and access to living Christians….We don’t need to tithe anymore because our work is done, we are just waiting for Jesus to come back any minute now..of course there are some radicals at the the joshuaproject that give reasons for systematic giving to support missions but that’s old school like tithing.
Jared Brian says
‘Old School’ is something that’s just not popular anymore. Tithing isn’t old school. it’s been fulfilled by Christ.
anonymous says
yeah it’s fulfilled for sure, not only did Jesus pay for my sins he also sends his Holy Spirit to pay for all the heating bills and air conditioning and maintenance bills to keep up the church, not to mention the Holy Spirit miraculously provides an extra 3 trillion dollars a year free to support the obviously enormously successfully evangelism of the 10/40 window “cuz dear aint no such a thing as missions widout money” Jesus fulfilled %100 so I don’t have to give %10 or even %1, that’s all done away with, along with the law and missions. I had a notion to give my %10 to help support this website but no need because Jesus fulfilled it all. Hallelujah, for a moment there until I read this website I was so sure that God had set up something to reach the unreached people groups, those silly people at joshuaproject, what are thinking?

G’day Jared. The tithe preaching, receiving church I exited from countered your non tithing stance with as follows, paraphrased….Levitical Priests were the only humans, under Old Covenant Law authorised by God to receive tithes… Levitical priesthood ended :Melchisedek priesthood took over + the ministers of that church were/are [their translation] the required lawful tithe receiving humans, according to God…I understand that Christ was/is Melchisedek: a priest of God forever…Love to read your reply…

This post may help https://www.tithing.com/blog/do-we-tithe-to-jesus-as-the-high-priest/
Other than that, there are so many other issues that conflict with that line of reasoning.
1. Abraham only gave from the spoils of war not his own wealth
2. Abraham gave 90% to the king of sodom
3. It was ancient custom in that land to pay a 10% tax to the king.
4. The tithing example in hebrews 7 was used to make the writers point only about the continuation of the priesthood. It is not a pasage addressing the usage of tithing in the church.
5. The continuation of an eternal priesthood not bound by the law is the heart and focus. Tithing is just an expression.

What are you saying, guy. Everything we have is giving to is because of his grace. We should give freely as purposeful as our heart, for God loves a cheerful giver. I hate the name calling of tithe , and I don’t like when churches assign a percentage to it. Whatever you can cheerfully give. God bless
Herb says
Dear Femi,
I think you gave any an excellent reply. One can easily give cheefully when giving from the heart, as he/she is able to afford — (not by command). In fact, I Tim. 5:8 states that we should provide for our own household …. he has denied the faith and worse than an ifidel”. There are people on tight budgets. This is to say that scardficing our needsw is required but we do live in a an ungodly world where extortion exists (in all forms).

As a former member 18 years,of a tithe preaching church. My observations thereon follow. For that 18 years, my wife + 4 kids suffered FINANCIALLY when I was tithing. Members like me: wage earning, married with kids suffered likewise.
Businessmen/women did better because they tithed according to some orchestrated, ministerial system wherein they tithed after ‘legal beagles’ worked out [Pharisaical like?] a nett income to tithe on!
The rich members, well, hey they always do ok.
The church honcho[s], hierarchy, advisers ministry ‘rolled in dough!’ Yet, always their message was : they were battling financially, more money was needed to “Get the work done, buy something preach somewhere etc.”…The wealth/property/aeroplanes + total dollar value of that church was staggering! Yet,still the message was always to the effect, [emphasis mine] “Keep those dollars coming in!” There was much financial hardship endured by drones such as I; caused me to ask myself. If tithing law + reward as Biblically described is required today: why are we suffering financially + why does this church seemingly never have a full ‘storehouse?’ After exiting that church, I encountered through business and or socially: various tithe preaching churches members. Was struck by the fact that, so many of these folk were + are struggling financially….I’m not a church attendee, or member of any.My belief is that I should be giving offerings of my money, time and or energy, all three even, where + how I choose. Tithing to me, is for Pharisees, with a physical ‘temple’ of their choice.
Did you folk know that EVEN the JEWS today, DON’T TEACH TITHING. Jews today, if I’m correctly informed: DON’T KNOW WHERE LEVITE TRIBE IS, NOR WHERE THEIR TEMPLE IS.

Hey ‘Anonymous’. I wonder IF you’re deliberately being provocative? Are you texting ‘Tongue in cheek?’ Tithing IS NOT part of 10 Commandments: enjoy. Do you believe there are Two great/ “Royal” commandments?
jjordan says
shame on you anonymous! Your sarcastic comments are not appreciated, and certainly not appropriate. I am here to learn about the issue, and I can see that your stance is completely naive. In your attempt to defend your belief you have alienated it.
You can pay for and take those things that you mentioned: your fancy church building, your air conditioning, your furnace, and your fancy pulpit… I will take the truth, wherever it leads me.
Do you really think that because these men say the tithe was not commanded, that they are also saying we should not support the ministry? Absolutely not!
The emphasis is not to tithe, but to give… not to require men to turn in thier money as an act of law, but to give thier money as an act of love.
I find that a careful study of tithing in the Bible leads to a lot of unanswered questions. The simple truth is, the way we teach the tithe today, is not the way the Bible taught the tithe, regardless if the tithe is a requirement for the New Covenant Church or not. Someone, somewhere, changed it to serve the interests of the modern day church. Was this appropriate and Bible based?
I’ll leave it to you to find the answer… But I’ll give you a hint: look to the old testament descriptions of tithing, and compare them to today, they don’t match. Now look to the history books concerning church economics, there you’ll find when and why preachers stared singing a different tune about the tithe.
After a long and careful study of scripture and history I find that the tithe was not a command for the new covenant church. I’ll admit, this shocked me, and it was very hard for me to accept and let go… months after I stopped believeing in tithing, I continued to tithe.
Now I don’t tithe, I give… and the funny thing is, I give just as much now as I ever tithed before, in fact I often give more. I teach at a tithe paying church, and I started asking the elders what they believed concerning the tithe? Do you know what I found? The most active, engaged, and generous members of our church did NOT belive in tithing! They gave, and they gave freely. I learned a hard lesson that day, that it is better to give than to pay, and people are more willing to give than to pay.
People are so scared to lose thier bread and butter when it comes to church support… the simple truth is, those that were willing to tithe are also willing to give. Why are we trying to force thier money out of them by demanding a tithe, when if you asked (as the New Testament clearly demonstrates) they would give?
DANNY says
jjordan,
Agreed, well said! As ‘newbie’ this website,I may be wrong regarding next observation. Seems to me, you folk need to address the question of ‘Stewardship’ regarding the spending of church monies, especially tithes. There are many website[s] examples of how tithe money has been misused, misappropriated + or plain wasted! The church from which I exited was a prime example thereof! Churches don’t pay taxes + NEED to be STRICTLY AUDITED by independent officials. Every incoming + outgoing cent MUST be accounted for. The ‘flock[s] of every church should be appraised regularly of their church[es] financial ‘doings.’ Secular world requirements are such; even micro business operators have to thus perform. Any church adverse to these requirements should be automatically regarded as ‘suspect.’ Most churches I’ve attended, associated with, during my ‘gullibility’ life phase. Did poorly on my test scripture: Mathew 6: 19-21 + v24…In fact one church [cult?] preacher literally refused to respond/speak to me after that scripture quoted to him.

Gidday anonymous,
Do you believe in “Two royal Laws” of + from God?
Regarding 10 Commandments:these Laws of /from God, written on stone, by God Himself, were placed INSIDE ark of the Covenant.
Ceremonial law: written by human hand, on parchment, placed outside the ark.
Ceremonial law of ordinances was nailed to Christ’s stake: ENDED.
[1] Tell me this please: Which two great Commandments Fulfill all the Law + have never changed/ ended? [2] Do you believe tithing is absolutely REQUIRED by GOD + produces “Overflowing warehouses” in the practitioners thereof? Love to read your reply! PLEASE!
thabo machete says
anon, I’ve been following your line of argument for a while and thus urge you to give yourself time to study the differences between the old testament commandments, who they were directed at, for what purpose, and the faith based new testament based on love and inclusive of all peoples of all backgrounds, then you will realise that tithing as an instruction was for old testament Israel as opposed to giving out of own free will in the new testament. God bless you.
Paul Nogaki says
Too many of the modern churched Christians are too “culturally imperfected” to see what the Bible teaches on this matter.
I was first taught the truth of Christians being freed from all of the Old Covenant laws about 43 years ago when I first came to know our Savior. Unfortunately, all of us in that church were soon to be sold out by the two Pastors, when their ministry started attracting enough young people that the head Pastor figured out that he could quit his day job as an engineer, and we could start paying our tithe! He originally said it was just for awhile, until he got going again. But after he started Lording it over us in all matters, including for some, the setting up of marriages, we all woke up and decided that it wasn’t a sin against God to disobey your Pastor, as he was teaching us.
The best part happened just recently when I met a Chinese pastor from the underground church in China. He told me that in those highly successful churches, the pastors are expected to have jobs just like all others in the church. The church doesn’t have cars and buildings to buy, light and heat bills to pay, or pensions to provide their staff. The pastors do the job of raising up the church only because they have a burning desire to see the bride of Christ in her perfection. They meet in homes, and people don’t have anonymity to hide behind.
Gideon says
Paul, interesting input. “Burning desire”: that’s a good way for a minister to be!
“Freed from ALL Old Covenant laws”: to you, does that mean the 10 Commandments also?
As the Chinese church is “underground,” wouldn’t it actually therefore, be “anonymous?”
Ron Brown says
When we pray it is to be in secret. No bragging about how much we pray. When we give we are not to let our “Left hand know what our right hand is doing.” In other words secretly. No testimonies about “When I started to tithe God started blessing me. And if you people become a good Christian like me then God will bless you too.” This is “sounding the trumpet.” You have your reward. Also, only two per cent of Christians tithe. So while you are bragging about your giving you are discouraging ninety eight per cent of your fellow Christians. Ron Brown.
Helen says
Correct Ron. Deliberate “braggers” stating their tithing practice as eg ‘good works’ and ditto about prayer life do receive their’reward’ Pharisee like and as you said.
However, often when questioned about why their church always seems to need more $’s and why they’re not in excellent financial shape. The bragging stops!
Seriously though, why do you folk even bother? Not meant as criticism; why bother? These folk choose their style of ‘churchianity,’ as did I, when in tithe preaching church. We all have to work out our own salvation path in “Fear and trembling.” That’s the hard and even scary challenge to Christians.
James Sundquist says
Dr. Russell Kelly who did his PHD on Tithing is the best video expose I have ever seen on refuting tithing:
http://www.perfectpeaceplan.com/post/rick-warrens-tyranny-of-tithing-covenants-by-dr-russell-kelly/
Suz says
Wow, Mr. Sundquist, thx for suggesting that we listen to Dr. Russell Kelly. It really spiced up my day to hear him say that those who teach tithing should be shot. Hmmmm…. Seems a bit unchristian of him & statements like these could even turn off non-Christians to the gospel. Furthermore, his arguments interpreted the Bible out of context and seemed uneducated…at best. Additionally, he could be sued by Rick Warren for making money off of a website that posts Rick Warren’s content for financial gain without giving Rick any proceeds… Also a bit unchristian. It is true that sometimes churches go to far and ask too much of people and take advantage of them, but that is why we always need to read the Bible for our selves. Trusting God is much more important than pointing out that a pastor is wrong. If your not tithing and your finances are in the toilet, maybe you are missing out.
Gideon says
Suz’s Quote “If you’re not tithing and your finances are in the toilet, maybe you are missing out” unquote. I understand you believe in tithing; I respect your belief and right to so do.
Reality always batters theory and too, beliefs, into the state of being or the social construction of reality.
Translates in the tithing world, as tithe paying folk actually living below the lifestyle of their non tithe paying counterparts: I’ve seen this reality…True, there’s tithe payers who live very well…There’s churches doing well financially, books well and truly in the black and they don’t practice tithing: they donate…There’s churches such as SDA, loaded with money and property: they’re a tithing church… When I practiced tithing, my family and I. We struggled financially, the whole time!..When I stopped tithing: we were better off financially…Many folk in my previous and tithing church, doing very well while tithing, proved to have other relevant factors, besides tithing. As follows [1] they were very wealthy BEFORE joining that church. [2] Being Business men/ women: enabled them to claim a nett income *AFTER business expenses + with cunning Accountants help. They tithed on that figure; wage earners paid tithes on gross wage without sizeable *deductions to lower that figure…One explanation I’ve heard is that those who’re tithing and struggling financially: lack faith and or tithe with the wrong attitude. Ergo: God doesn’t bless them!…Whenever discussions/ debates about tithing arise I always remember the state of play for THAT tithe receiving church: [1] Exorbitantly salaried hierarchy. [2] Private jets. [3] Impressive and expensive buildings/ homes/ jewellery /overseas trips by hierarchy/ mega bucks in accounts + highly paid lawyers on staff…Eventually I stopped tithing. No longer could I believe God required me to contribute 1/10 of my hard earned wage [sole wage earner] to that church. Better I thought: use all my not huge nett wage, to support my wife and 4 kids…Thus it was and is Suz!…Did I show lack of faith, wrong attitude or was I correct in my decision?…You tell me Suz-please. Oh, I now donate to the church of my choice, after having tried tithing for many years…
Suz says
Gideon, if your finances are ok, that statement was not for you. I come from a single-parent home with 3 siblings. My mom brought in less than $9,000 per year in 1999. I wanted you to know that since it sounds like you are making the argument that if I came from money, I can’t thank God for blessing and protecting my money after I tithe. Every day I thank God for my career and financial stability because I know that it all came from him. I know that I have been faithful in the tithe, and he has done what He said He would do. Are you telling me that you gave at least exactly 10% of your wages to God for at least one year and God didn’t bless you? Honestly, being able to support 4 kids and only have one parent work is a HUGE blessing – some would call it a luxury.
Gideon says
Nowhere does my previous contribution say you’ve “Come from money” – nowhere. reread my input: its about [1] My experience with tithing. [2] Observations about others both wealthy and not
” “… Including folk who were tithing, me included and not prospering as were others prospering while NOT tithing.
You:”Are you telling me” me: absolutely! Furthermore my 10% was on GROSS not nett wage, later on that church changed to tithe on nett rule… The “luxury” statement: we weren’t rolling in dough. Frequently: not enough money to pay bills eg utilities, car repairs buy items that non tithers purchased as a norm etc. We were better off financially after tithing stopped. Their were occasions when my non tithing parents helped us out…The church receiving these tithes however, was enormously wealthy: $’s, salaries, possessions + property wise. That church prospered and grew from the tithes of the faithful members, no doubt about it! Was God blessing that church OR was it simple maths: the more tithe $’s they got the richer they got?!
Is your church: one you tithe to, wealthy? Does the conregation receive a yearly statement: gross and nett balances shown, along with where the $’s are going and salaries etc? They should! Care to comment!
Suz, apparently God doesn’t care WHICH church tithes are paid to? Mean: there’s churches with widely diverse views about how to serve Him and their practices vary. However tithing to any of them apparently is rewarded by God? That’s ‘apparently’ Suz…
The J’sW church Watchtower arm, NO I’m not one and want nothing to do with ’em! Prospers, owns property + in 2007 had $951 million income. That figure doesn’t include income from their other tentacles. Suz, they don’t practice tithing. Imagine the annual gross + nett income of the tithing churches, all TAX FREE… Suz, care to tell us which tithe receiving church you support?…
My previous input is simply about my and others experience with tithing: nothing more or less…Hope to ‘hear’ from you…
Cheers!

Robert Munyui Kamunyu says
Tithing was under and is under the law with a curse for Christians seeking salvation under the law, Galatians 3:3-13, Malachi 3:1-18. When pastors and priest lie by quoting Malachi 3:1-18, under the law IN OLD COVENANT , how many Christians line up to be served with food when tithes and offering under the law are given? Is the storehouse pastors’ and priests’ house or the Church being the body of Christ? Saved Christians by grace IN NEW COVENANT , who are led by the Holy Spirit are not under law. They are ministers of the new testament born of love with exceeding glory which surpassed the glory that was in law in Moses . We have been redeemed from the curse of the law to adoptions of sons in Royal Priesthood ( Pastors ,Priest and Bishops who are servants of God cannot subject sons of God in Royal Priesthood to tithe taxes- absolute illegal) and are not under the law, Galatians 5:1, Galatians4:4-5,2 Corinthians 3:1-18 . Salvation under the law one attains it at last breath on earth having done all that pertains to the law which is hard for one to accomplish. Even the tithe which was given by Abraham was under the law of sin and death from the fall of Adam and Eve. Those who lie would like to deceive Christians that tithe was before the law but before which law. When Christ was born He was given gifts and not tithes Mathew 2:11-12. Salvation under spiritual law of love by grace is freely given and attained with free miracles from God our Father, Ephesians 2:4 -9, Ephesians 2:13 -20. Under Leviticus priesthood tithes were given for the tribe of Levi and tithe of tithe to the high Priest for they shared no land apart from the walled towns they were allocated to stay in for their continuous sacrifice to God, Numbers 18:20 -29.Widows, strangers ,fatherless and orphans benefited from tithes and offerings given to Levites, Deuteronomy 14:22-29. In Christianity widows were asked to be catered by close brethren to ease burden to the Church. There were also tithes of different kinds in Israel. There was also a tithe where a family had to eat all before the Lord, Deutreronomy12:6-7. In Christ Jesus we are saved by grace to adoptions of sons in Royal Priesthood of Christ and not by works of law ,Galatians 3:8-13,Acts13: 38-39, Galatians 4: 4-5, Galatians2:16-21, Galatians 5:18. Sons have direct access to the Father and free common inheritance not bought or worked for from the father. For servants ( Pastors and Priest) are worthy all respects and due sharing help from Christians in love. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ is every Christian burden and giving in love to support brethren for this cause is a free blessing.
IN NEW TESTAMENT two priesthood are compared Hebrew7: 7-28, Hebrew8:6 -13, Hebrew 9:6-9, Hebrew 10:8-23. Leviticus priesthood under the law with tithes, death, discontinuity and its acceptance under glory of law without the great commission was done away in Christ and the holy priesthood of Christ without tithes, death and discontinuity with exceeding glory under which Christians are in salvation being a Holy nation and Loyal Priests to preach to the world GOD being their Father in new covenant ministry. Tithing weakens the Royal Priesthood of Christians in Christ where Christians are supposed to give themselves as living sacrifice in the mission vision fields. The Christians Royal Priesthood in Christ Jesus is internally weekend from within ,fought and economically drained mostly for indoors ministries under revival of Leviticus priesthood by pastors. The Royal Priesthood is internally spiritually emaciated and trodden upon.2 Corinthians2:1-13, 2Peter 2:5-9. Priesthood involves sacrifices. The priesthood was changed from the old covenant( Leviticus Priesthood) to the new covenant (Loyal Priesthood of labor in Christ without tithes allocations which is not appreciated) and the law governing it was changed. Christ requested His disciples to give the crowd food to eat , Matthew 14:15-16. Jesus Christ told Peter look after his lambs and later to look after His sheep ( service) in clear shift from Leviticus priesthood John 21:15-17. JESUS CHRIST our High Priest is the mediator of better New Covenant established upon better promises. Hebrew8:6-8. Under Leviticus priesthood an animal for sacrifice was alive between the alter of sacrifice and the Levite priest holding the sacrificial knife. Sheep remained alive for a period of time only when they were delivered many animals for sacrifice and the alter could not hold them all for sacrifice .We are dead to sin and alive in Christ who live in us being a living sacrifice to God.
Levites Pastors and Priest are comfortable with brethren who live like dead sacrifice. Levites priests were to labor to sacrifice and not tendering the flocks or do any farming ,Numbers 18:20-32. They lived in walled towns .Pastors and Priests who revive the Leviticus priesthood removed by Christ and merge it to the Loyal priesthood of Christ do so for personal gains in mass cheating for personal allocations. Leviticus priesthood under law remained hostile to the Ministry of Christ and His disciples who suffered in their hands even after Christ’s death. Levites priests beat and wanted to kill all disciples of Christ whom they told not to preach in His name. Acts 5:17-42. Let well educated brethren teach the Word of God the same way as learned Doctor Luke and Br. Paul did for spiritual growth of the body of Christ. Let well educated Christians stand for justice like Dr . Gamaliel who was a doctor of law who in his response rescued the apostles from eminent death in the hands of Levites priests Acts;5:17-42. What pastors are not telling the Church (the bride/sons/ ambassadors /advocate/ friends and co- workers with Christ and ministers of the new covenant in the Word/children) is the reason Christ had in choosing the twelve disciples ( under new covenant in Grace ) and opted not to use the Levites Priests ( in old covenant under law) that were well established and placed had they to be chosen preach to the world. LET PASTORS , BISHOPS AND PRIESTS HONESTLY PURGE THEIR HEARTS AND SPEAK THE TRUTH ON TITHES. CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW IN THE OLD COVENANT. The intrigue of doctrinal falsehood on tithes smartly engineered and flamboyantly taught by them worldwide cannot be justified or be cleansed by their religious social status. Christians should not be for entertainments but for truth preached and taught which is not in contest in numerical strength for acceptance. It quite clear from the Bible that there is no perfection and justification under works of the law. Galatians 2:16- 21, Galatians 3:8-13,Galatians 4;4-5,Galatians 5:1,18. Hebrew 10;8-9. For Christians God has no pleasure for sacrifice and offerings and burnt offerings and offering for sins and for which is offered under law. WHY WOULD THE CLERGY NOT TELL CHRISTIANS TO SACRIFICE FOR THEIR SINS BUT TITHE ? THEY SHOULD TELL CHRISTIANS WHETHER THEY ARE IN ROYAL PRIESTHOOD OF CHRIST OR UNDER LEVITICUS PRIESTHOOD FOR NON DOUBLE STANDARDS DOCTRINAL TEACHING. Selective preaching and teaching on tithes falsehood cover up still remain. In law men in old covenant remained the instructors and enforcers of the law. In new covenant the Holy Spirit remains our wonderful teacher and counselor in grace. For sure those who are in bondage of the law have men appreciation at hand but those lead by the Holy Spirit in Liberty within the yoke of Christ in grace have the acceptance of God. Christians should not be held spiritually hostage by unifying concealed falsehoods out of labor. This would be spiritual blindness and slavery for many Christians hard for some to overcome.
Apostles did not teach and preach the Gospel Of Jesus Christ through deceptive greediness but by sound doctrines, 2Peter:1-3. Christians taught for doctrines the commandments of men have establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto righteousness of God and replace Jesus Christ for men who become their gods Roman 1:1-4. The trickiest concealed part being putting and uplifting self-righteousness in bold daylight spectrum bath for self- justification with great proof of amassed successful blessings through falsehood but not justified by God. They are admired for their earthly great achievements and they testify much of their stardom. Mathew 15: 5-9. There is the church of men where men teach for doctrines commandments of men and Church of Jesus Christ which cannot be swallowed by institutionalized organized falsehood and greed concealed in martyrdom of great false knowledge spread which is not in the True Word of God. Even those workers of iniquity with miracles shall not cheat and defeat the church of Christ since He holds the Church in His holy hands in due time. Matthew15:8-9. The gates of hell shall not prevail over the Church of Jesus Christ. Mathew16:18. The Church of Christ cannot live by glorious commandments instituted by men standards . No Christian should be cheated that how well looked after pastors are taken care of by Christians that it is the same way heaven is opened for them for blessings. Christians must break free and be clean from men commandments enslavement and serve the Body of Christ and reach out to the world in liberty of Christ love. Christians true love and care will then freely flourish and share in love blessings from our God with the clergy. Beloved Bishops ,Pastors, Priest and Church Elders, by grace and love of God, may you please handle the Church of Jesus Christ within the doctrinal yoke of Christ.
They are amazed we stand in Christ without seeking their favor or consultation in tithes issues. They have stood as heroes of faith in teaching tithes as a condition for Christians to have blessings from God which we have opposed them as a lie. We are ambassadors of Christ on earth and we cannot be down sized to be ambassadors of men. THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE MANY UNSUSPECTING BELIEVERS NOT KNOWING WHAT THEIR ARE TAUGHT MANY TIMES HAD BEEN DISCUSSED IN COUNCILS OF MEN FOR UNIFORMITY AND NOT WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Let Bishops ,Pastors, Priests and Church Elders handle the Church of Christ within Christians doctrines established by Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles in the mission field vision. CHRISTIANS MUST FACE AND ADDRESS THE MASS SWEEPING AND SOOTHING FALSEHOOD TAUGHT BY SOME WELL EDUCATED ELITE CHRISTIANS ABOUT TITHES IN A SOBER SPIRITUAL REALITY FACE OUT. Tithes teaching is real unexpected falsehood from those held dearly in trust by many Christian. The situation becomes more murky and tricky when church elders are accomplished in the classic falsehood which puts the church into mental slavery. The Royal Priesthood in grace is quite different from Leviticus Priesthood under the law. Leviticus Priesthood in the old covenant belonged to the Levite tribe among the eleven tribes in Israel but the Royal Priesthood in the new covenant under oppression and suppression belongs to all brethren in the world in Christ Jesus ( the Church / the body of Christ) who are ministers of the new covenant commissioned to preach to the world. The Royal Priesthood is well placed to reach the world more effectively at close quarters in Christ love and glory expected. It is quite unfortunate that Christians unknowingly are victims of systematic unmarked high professional intellectual falsehood commercialization cover up in tithes teaching by learned Christians brethren which is a disservice to the (church) body of Christ. But Christians have been warned not to be fools since for some preaching and teaching falsehood is a smart act energetically engaged and Christians are openly conned .Ephesians 5:15-16. Tithing under law impoverishes the Royal Priesthood of Christ physically and spiritually which make the Great commission less effective. When all saved Christians are in Royal Priesthood, to whom do you tithe to in the in new covenant? The Royal Priesthood needs to take its place in Christian missions empowered in New Covenant for Christians to work in glory of Christ love intended for the body of Christ. It quite clear from the Bible that there is no perfection and justification under works of the law. Galatians 2:16- 21, Galatians 3:8-13,Galatians 4;4-5, Galatians 5:1,18. Hebrew 10;8-9,
A fountain cannot produce sweet and bitter water the same time. James 3:8-18. A new piece of cloth does not patch an old cloth nor do men put new wine in old bottles. Matthew 9:16-17. And with the priesthood changed there was need of changing the law governing it. Our royal priesthood in Christ Jesus is not after law of carnal commandment but after power of endless life Hebrews 7:7-26 .We Christian are saved by GRACE IN CHRIST LOVE(Spiritual Law) for we cannot be subjected to carnal law of sin and death crucified and done away by Christ on cross of Calvary. We are subjected to spiritual law of life in Covenant in Christ Jesus and ought to have the spiritual understanding of the Word of God in liberty without corrupting the Word of God. Roman 8:1-2, Colossians 1:9-10. As God has blessed us in common inheritance of the saints, we should give sacrificially as we have purposed in our hearts in liberty and in love, Galatians 5:1, 2Corinthians 9;6-7, Galatians 6:6-7, Hebrew6:6-12,Hebrew13:11-16. Christ taught spiritual giving to God and to our parents, Luke 6:8 ,Matthew15:5-9. Paul also taught the same .2Corinthians 9:6-14, Philippians 2:4-5. Aaron was given unto Moses, the Levites tribe was given unto Aaron, the eleven tribes of Israel were given unto Levites tribe to serve them but we Christians are purchased through the blood of Christ we are no man servants but servants of Christ 1Corinthians 7:21-2 , God is our father and our readily help in times of needs and not men. We are warned not to call any man our father in the spirit. Mathew23:9. Some have made men their fathers and call them fathers turning them their gods on earth. Numbers 3:9-15. No servant can hinder children access to the Father and His blessed inheritance. Are pastors, priest and Bishops in the Royal Priesthood of Christ or are in the Leviticus priesthood? Who coordinate pastors only to work for Christ for a living. Apostles of Christ worked with their hands for a living and for preaching the Gospel of Christ. All saved Christians are servants of Christ in the Royal Priesthood of Christ. Do we make the spiritual understanding between the Leviticus Priesthood under the law and the Royal Priesthood in grace in the New Covenant or do we mix the two distinctive priesthoods cunningly for selfish gain to eliminate the so called clergy poverty and mess up with the doctrine of salvation in Grace? Christ gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and some teachers for the perfecting of saint in the work of the ministry for edifying the( church) body of Christ so us not to be deceived Ephesians4:11-19. Who set aside and allocated poverty and tithes to the pastors in preaching the Gospel of Christ since those who preach the Gospel (Christians/Royal priests) shall live by the Gospel or who bear the burden of mercy for the clergy to teach and preac

Robert MK: ‘phew ‘ what a tome! What’s the problem with you folk? Christ Mt 23:23, told us to NOT leave tithing undone: very clear-yes?! I know He spoke to the Pharisees and we aren’t [ hopefully] them. However do you not see that His directive is an example of giving? We all have free choice: tithe/ don’t tithe/ donate or ‘give ‘/ don’t donate/ give. Its up to us and between us and Yahweh. I choose to donate, not tithe, because of my experiences in a cult that preached tithing and were proved to worship mammon. Others here and elsewhere, tithe and count it a blessing: reaping rewards in abundance, according to them. Tithe preaching and receiving churches, in fact ALL churches. Should be transparent and show balance sheet to their flocks: gross and nett income: where the $’s being spent, salaries of honchos, material/ vehicle purchases, EVERYTHING! If they won’t, ask them, God and yourself WHY? Folks: tithe, don’t tithe, donate, don’t donate: its between us and God. Our good deeds are supposed to be done in secret anyway!

I agree to an extent. I think the church today must be more under investigation for it speaker is swinging in gold and his flock is lost and paying for hope. Church today is different. The church then was one community with one church. The community seen actions made by the church.
Marc Rettus says
Unbelievable that Jesus telling the Pharisees that there was nothing wrong with obeying the law, which was still in effect at the time, means that the law applies to us.
If so, let’s start stoning the adulterers. :)
Give as your heart dictates, not with reluctance, nor compulsion. After all, the pastor, at least where I live, lives in a much nicer house than you do.
Bert says
You are wrong…. the tithe, justice and mercy must be practiced as Jesus said…. do you meant that justice and mercy must not be applied today as the tithe we should have too?
fas933 says
More like 10 slices of balogna. The lengths some commenters went to ,unbelievable. I find no scripture speaking against or prohibiting the concept of a tithe as showing GOD Almighty respect by giving. A concept in existence long before the Mosaic law. Now if you are requiring the tithe as a necessity of obeying the law to somehow make you worthy, that is explicitly WRONG !!! I KNOW we are not under the Mosaic law for salvation but under grace. I give 10% to a local church not by requirement but by GOD’s blessings to me. For the poor deluded contributor who thinks I’m stealing from my family by tithing and worse than an infidel ….won’t say something unkind
Clusivere Rhakkan says
We should understand what it means from the Bible, while it can be used to make churches a den of robbers. If a church is not caring for its community then the church is selling hope. The christian church should be on one accord with the Bible. Practices of the church are more perverted because of the community’s lack to STUDY, they rely on the church to teach to word.

Those separating the new testament from the old should know that
1. All scripture(new and old)are given to us by God according to 2 Timothy 3:16.
2. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law rather he came to fulfill the law and the prophets. Matthew 5:17.
3. Grace is the reason why we are not consumed when we derail from his ordinances.
John Gregory says
Jesus DID fulfill the Law. As the Lamb of God, he shed his own blood so Father could DO AWAY with the Law (Zechariah 11:10-11) Whenever anyone broke the covenant made with Israel through Moses, blood had to be shed to atone for it. Father wanted to do away with the Law so he could act according to GRACE instead of LAW, so he sent his Son to the Cross and broke him so he could break the covenant. (Psalms 89:8-39: Jesus was killed so God his Father could make the covenant that he represented and walked under void) All of this to make room for a NEW Covenant, one where we are accepted based solely on believing in Jesus’ finished work.
“In that he saith, a new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” Will you accept that Jesus’ blood covered and obliterated the Law? Because Paul said that this is EXACTLY what happened in 2 Corinthians 3… The “ministration of death, written and graven on stones” was the TEN COMMANDMENTS!!! Instead of looking to them, we are to be led by the Spirit of God, who will always and only cause us to walk in love, and love is the fulfilling of the Law. We FULFILL it without being UNDER it, without being judged by it.
All of this is covered in exquisite detail in Romans, Galatians and Hebrews as well. We HAVE TO throw off the veil that comes with reading Moses and turn to the risen Son of God to know God’s will.
And NOT ONE APOSTLE taught tithing after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Robert Munyui Kamunyu says
Many Christians cannot believe that the clergy can plan evils and tell lies. You can only teach and preach about tithes from law without spiritual scandal but not from grace . Know by grace you are saved. Ephesian2:8-9,8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. John1:17,17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Matthew27: 62-66, 62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night[a] and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard. Matthew28:10-15, Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.14 And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. The Chief Priests and elders got tithes but did not spread or help the spread of the Gospel but persecuted Christians. When were the tithes allocated to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Paul got letters from the high priest to persecute Christians. Acts 22:5, The high priest and the whole council of elders can testify that this is so. For I received letters from them to our Jewish brothers in Damascus, authorizing me to bring the Christians from there to Jerusalem, in chains, to be punished.
Robert Munyui Kamunyu says
The teaching on tithes falsehood is pivoted on campaign teaching that Abraham tithed to God who does not change and tithes teaching with curses under law in old Covenant. Malachi 3:6-12, When God dealt with the Children of Israel under the demands of the glory of the law,God was God. When God deals with Christians under New Covenant by Grace in love God remains God. The two Covenants have each specific applications to humanity which do not change the status of God. Can they apply the same daily measures of sins punishments under the glory of the law so as to imply God does not change the way they do for tithes. It is easy for many unsuspecting Christian to take it as the Gospel truth. The remnant few faithful Christians must firmly remain in the narrow highway of faith and teach Christian doctrine on giving bearing in mind they stand on highways of interests of elites clergies on tithes falsehood taught with awkward elite professional church elders support. When we stand for truth we build the body of Jesus Christ, in contradiction to accusation of bringing down the church. Those feelings of pulling down the Church were there when PENTECOSTAL AND EVANGELICAL Movements came in into play. Who are those honestly pulled down from the truth they have preached and taught that cannot sustain them? The cleansing bloom of truth and righteousness has pulled down the tower of falsehood on tithes taught. They can only suppress the truth and justify falsehood to themselves by comforting themselves of being unfairly criticized but the truth is never subdued. Those blinded by the veil in the old Testament who cannot bear the Holy Bible Doctrine for Christians giving of purposed good measure from heart according as God has blessed one condemn themselves, 2Corinthians 9:6-9, Luke 6:38, 2Corinthians 3:6-17. A pressing need of meeting Church requirements is cunningly hedged in as the justification for tithes without spiritual care. God supplied the early Church needs without tithes so well is done even today. In truth the Church grows stronger, regrets and dismay are removed from our Spiritual Christian life growth since we do not wear the white coat of hypocritical harm. The seal of tithes falsehood has been broken and removed without apology. Only those who flourish and prosper in falsehood are pulled down when truth is taught. When we expose falsehood as God is clear in HIS Word that we Christians should be spiritually awake and aware of false preaching and teaching, we shy not being falsely accused of condemning the church.
Robert Munyui Kamunyu says
Hebrews 10:5-7.5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,But a body You have prepared for Me.6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure.7 Then I said,‘Behold, I have come In the volume of the book it is written of Me To do Your will, O God. Let the clergy tell Christian to do animals sacrifices for sin as they do for tithes with curses under law.Much preaching is done in grace and love to Christians at early stages who are later sleekly entangled and enslaved in fear under the bondage of law in tithes emphatically taught. We have been redeemed from the curse of the law, Jesus Christ being made a curse for us : for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. Christians saved by grace are the High Priest in the Royal Priesthood Of Jesus Christ and able ministers of the new testament born of love with exceeding glory which surpassed the glory that was in law with Moses which was done away with, 2Corinthhians 3:613, Hebrew7:25-26, 1Peter2:5-9. Curses are as a result of sins. If sins in curses are not dealt with by Jesus Christ in Salvation, then there are clergies who have taken the burden of cleansing Christians from curses in their own paid ways. Really is everyone arguing over paying tithes?? It doesn’t matter if you give your whole paycheck!!! If you don’t trust the Lord with your whole life your tithes don’t matter..And considering Hello!!! Most modern day churches are doomed for destruction!!! Ask yourselves..why in the world would you give a selfish church that never even talks about how we live in the end days, idol worship, idolaters sitting in the same church who have gotten a divorce and remarried which is a sin!!! Oh but they pay there tithes so what you can sin and sin but atleast I pay my tithes!!! Who in their right mind gives the Almighty God who is Jesus Christ, money that the Rothschilds created in America for evil..The same money that has egyptian pyramids on it, the all seeing eye of horus a.k.a the devil..people kill, steal and comit atrocities for the mighty american dollar and you have the audacity to offer it to God Almighty..shame on you!! REPENT for the kingdom of God is at hand!!!
John Gregory says
Really? “And you have the audacity to offer it to the living God…” While I’ve read words as equally out of touch with reality, but those words, as yours, come from a heart that neither understands the heart (or Word) of God, nor understands that everyone who offers praise to God glorifies him. Those who order their lives to agree with his desires will see his salvation. You are further from his salvation than those divorcees who’ve remarried. Whether it was the “woman taken in adultery” or the “woman at the well” who’d been married five times and was shacking up with her current man, the ONLY man who didn’t condemn them was God’s Son. Hopefully, you will repent of your evil, arrogant and Pharisaical heart and meet the most gracious, kind and loving People I’ve ever met, the Living God. Jesus said that, unless our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, we shall “in no case” enter the kingdom of heaven. If ANYONE needs to repent, it’s you, repenting of your religious, hateful words towards those whom GOD has received in love.
Mark Brooks says
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. All things would include being financially blessed.(Not that money is my desire.) My God shall provide ALL of my needs according to his glorious riches. All my needs include money. The tax collector in the temple went away justified, which is a legal term meaning not guilty of anything. Did he have to tithe, to placate God? Those who tithe are doing the works of the law, unknowingly falling from God’s grace. Gal. 5:4

Exactly right, every word.
