$11 Million Christian Ponzi Scheme

An ABC News story written by Steve Osunsami states that Ephren Taylor is being accused of $11 million Christian ponzi scheme by the SEC. Not surprisingly, he has had influence upon New Birth Missionary Baptist Church with Eddie Long, as well as Lakewood Church run by Joel Osteen. Once again the health-wealth, prosperity gospel is showing its true colors. Ephran Taylor scandal targeted mostly black mega churches in at least 40 different states.

One of the comedic notes on this story written by ABC News is that the “SEC also alleged that he doled out cash to make a splashy music video starring his wife, Meshelle, draped in white fur and diamonds. The name of the song? “Billionaire.”” If you have the slightest imagination you should get a chuckle out of envisioning the gangsta and his wife singing out their bling-bling with money floating out of the sky.

Another kicker from the ABC News story is that, “Lakewood Church told ABC News they opened their doors to Taylor to speak on the subject of “Biblical financial principals,””

To top it off, one of the investors that were schemed out of their money warned Lakewood Church leadership about Ephren Taylor, and after doing so the leadership blames the victim. These wolves in sheep’s clothing are letting other wolves sneak into the fold, which is crazy that impostors can’t even recognize their own kind!!!

Bishop Eddie Long Robs God

I can’t prove the reliability of this, but a source familiar with the details of the Eddie Long scandal has told the Redding News Review that the final figure for settlement comes to around 24 million dollars!

What began as a $2 million agreement to settle the case for each of the four men quickly rose to $5.5 million for the respective plaintiffs, the source said, only because Long refused to publically admit guilt.

The men are to divide $2.2 million equally and then receive $400,000 in payments until the money is paid out over the next 20 years, the source said. The final figure comes to $22 million for the four men and $2.8 million for the plaintiffs attorneys.

Bishop Eddie Long not only robs God of the 24 million dollars but he also robs God the honor of his name. Eddie Long is not a martyr. If you think Eddie long is a victim in this fight, then you need to wake up. Eddie had lots of power and lots of money, and i’m sorry with that much influence you better know that some people want your money and your power. In that case, you need to be able to defend it. If you choose not defend God’s name and instead settle for 24 million; then there’s only one of two things going on here. One, you let the appearance of evil creep in and it would be virtually impossible to defend against your foolish and immature allowances. Or two, you were actually guilty of the accusations.

Either way, i didn’t hear Eddie Long describe either situation, or publicly admit to any mistakes on his part. Our justice system would not allow any group of punks off the street to come in and accuse any high profile figure of anything without some form of proof. I doubt there would even be a lawyer to take the case based on someone’s word of mouth. Instead, Eddie stuck his nose in the air, and decided to use donations from those who are poor and are widows to smooth out his mess.

As i’m writing, i think about how hypocritical this is more and more. Prosperity gospel preachers rant from the pulpit about robbing God for not tithing. And yet, they are the only ones who are taking; everyone else is giving.

Eddie Long Scandal

If you’ve come to this page, it means you may be somewhat aware of the Eddie Long Scandal that is out there. I believe that people in his type of position deserve the benefit of the doubt. Someone of his notoriety is a target. I’m sure he fights character attacks all the time. I’m not saying whether he’s innocent or guilty. I know I am not a fan of his pulpit pimping either, but those of you out there that think Eddie Long is automatically involved in this scandal probably should wait and see what the outcome is.

Turns out the matter was settled out of court. Seems that we will never know how serious or how true/untrue these allegations were.

Senate Panel Probes 6 Top Televangelists

Well, it looks like the senate committee in the national government is getting more involved in the matters of the church. CBS news talks about this story here.

I have been saying for some time that this was going to happen. If the church doesn’t put itself above reproach then the government will find any reason they can to mettle in the matters and control the Church. Ministries and lifestyles of Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn, just give the government an excuse to investigate.

I am so frustrated at the opportunity that these ministries have given the government to mettle in the matters of God’s children. What do you expect the governmental world system to do? Sit around and let these obese ministries be swept under the rug? I don’t care if you have the Christian liberty to be rich. I don’t care that God has given you the freedom to prosper. I don’t care that your ministry is following the laws of the IRS. I don’t care! I don’t care! I don’t Care! Do you think God looks at these ministries and smiles just because they are staying within the bounds of the tax code?

The only people that can destroy the freedom of religion is religion itself. I’m sick of it! The investigation of these ministries are just the tip of the iceberg in the near future. The government will be more involved, and regulate the church more and more with laws in years to come. These ministries make me sick! Maybe not the ministries as much as the personal lifestyles of these evangelists. These ministries have no right to point a finger at the government and complain about their invasion privacy, because it’s actually the devil at work here destroying the governmental safety net that these ministries have. Also, part of the investigations is a warning from God, saying, “watch out, straighten up, because the government is only going to make it harder and harder for the church to practice their liberty”.

How can any non-profit ministry have the audacity to squeeze a few tax dollars out of the federal government, and then call themselves a charitable organization while sitting their fat butt on their obese estate. Wasn’t it Jesus who said in Luke 3:11, ““He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.” But here are these evangelists not only do they have 5 or 6 luxury cars sitting in their enormous garage, but they are flying around in jets.

These ministries have given the government every reason to go in there and investigate. How dare these ministries just sit there with the nose up and lifting their clean hands, without being humiliated.

Children of God, why aren’t you humiliating these people? Why do you support them? You are destroying our liberty! If you gave your child an inch and you saw them stretch it out to a mile wouldn’t you enforce newer laws to limit their liberty? This is exactly what the government will do with the church.

Am I alone in my thoughts here?
