Below is a list of all 36 bible verses about tithes from both the Old and New Testament scriptures. There are many bible verses that refer to other forms of giving such as offerings, Spirit-led giving, or firstfruits; but I have only chosen bible verses that explicitly fit the definition of the tithe. I have combined the bible verses into 17 passages where it makes sense as a whole and included a general paraphrase to offer a quick synopsis of the verse(s).
You can view the Greek and Hebrew words that we to translate the word “tithe” on biblestudytools.com. The Hebrew word in the Bible most commonly used is Ma`aser. The Bible also uses `asar and `asiyriy when looking through a concordance. All these Hebrew words mean the same – to take a tenth. The Greek word used in the bible is Apodekatoo.

hi i wanna talk abt tithing. first of all god dont want money.. got it .he need only us to submit our whole heart & soul to him .. in many verses our god jesus said follow me and my words..what it means ? he like us to be like him (without selfishness) but we fail to live like him coz we are selfish . he give up the very last drop of blood for us to redeem.. so i think tithing is most impotant thing .coz giving is not a easy job.. jesus give every thing to us .coz he is a giver (god) so he invite us to be his body .now we are body of christ .our total control is in the hands of our saviour jesus christ through holy spirit.. so its a must to be a giver . once again i want to remeber u .. NOT ONLY MONEY .. WHOLE HEART AND SOLE… by this method only god can see our heart .. HOW MUCH WE ARE BROAD. wheather we serve to money or god.. so beleivers beleive tithing . show ur sound on poor by giving(TT) .. help the ppl who are needy ..(tt) starting a trust for the poor patients for treatment(tt)giving monetary help for the older ppl (tt)show ur softness to parents(tt) &ur neighbour share our peace and love to others who does not know abt our god.. keep god first in every moment.. .tithing means not only money its a simple logic SHOWING OUR NAKED HEART TO OUR GOD … BY THE WAY U CAN GET THE BLESSING FROM GOD .. god will select u as a head to disribute the blessing who pray to him amen

Connie is correct!!! The tithe is HOLY to GOD!!! JESUS himself set at the collection table watching people bring their tithes. Of course land, food and animals or what ever was precious or of value were used because they mainly used the bartering system but; even in Africa today (where Jerusalem, israel, etc is located) they still tithe to the church because it is the christians resposibility, obligation and act of obedience to GOD. There are more sriptures in the Bible that refer to money than salvation because once again the tithe is Holy to GOD and it is HIS (not the worls’s) devine economic system to help keep Kigcom Work and Kingdom Building moving forward. There is a lot more about tithing but these are the basics and if one doesn’t tithe then plain and simple you are being disobedient and not in coherence to the WORD of GOD. Always remember man has to change but the WORD of GOD never changes. The tithe was in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament; DON’T GET IT TWISTED!!! It’s GOD’s will and should be our privilege to tithe. If you don’t tithe then that is your personal choice but NOT the WORD of GOD. BE BLESSED!!!

Just a point on Geography — Jerusalem, Isreal, etc. are NOT in Africa. They are on another continent entirely — Asia. They are in part of Asia that is quite close to southern Europe and northern Africa. Please check out maps of the area, and a globe. When you have an accurate picture of “the lay of the land” it is easier to understand what our predecessors went through.

Brothers and Sisters, get serious and stop robing God your creator through your tithes and offerings. Malachai 3.8-10. this sin was passed to us by Adam and Eve when they accepted to eat the tree in the middle which represents the a tenth. Our grand fathers and perents also passed the same sin in us. STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT, Dont accept to pass it to your generation just accept and obey the Lord your creator and your CHILDREN AND GENERATION in general will be saved. start tithing and even your CHILDREN You will produce will have that seed of GIVING GENEROUSLY TO GOD. for those whom you have already produced ask God to forgive you and groom them in GIVING TO THE LORD. AND TEACH THEM ABOUT THE TITHE. do it to save the future and CHASE POVERTY OUT OF YOUR GENERATION.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janepher,
Where do you get your scripture interpretation from? I’m open to any kind of interpretation on this blog, but there’s no evidence to indicate that the tree in the garden represents God’s tenth. Please stop providing your opinions unless there is at least a single reference of scripture to support your amalgamation of two different historical references.

Hi,
Jesus said tithing is included in the law of Moses, so are you under the law or under the New Covenant ? Because you “CAN NOT BE UNDER BOTH”
If you are a christian then you are not allowed to go back and sow the veil that was in the holy temple so that the Levites can collect the food and animals tithe mentioned in Deuteronomy 14:22-29. or try and cancel Christ sacrifice so that you can go and be killed by God for going near the holy temple mentioned in Numbers 18:1-3
Stop your lies and go get a job like everyone else…lol
thou shall not COVET YOUR NEIGHBOURS 10% income..lol
Greed makes people lie and con people for money…lol

I shall address Mamastears because she is the only one among us who is seeking knowledge. All of us others have unshakeable opinions about tithe and thus want only to tell others but not to reflect on other’s viewpoints.
So Mamastears, tithe alone does not bring one nearer to God if one neglects to follow God’s will in all other matters. Jesus did not mince words telling it to a certain group of Know-it -all in Matthew 23:23 when he said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.”
Secondly, you need to give to God not the Church. Jesus will not ask how much or how often you paid your tithe but whether you helped the needy. Read Matthew 25:31-46. He says clearly in Matthew25:31-46 that whatever you do to the needy you do it to him. He goes on to say that, that is what he will ask you about.
Thirdly, Jesus brought the light of his Grace which was lacking during those dark of Mosaic law. In Mathew 23:13-16 Jesus chides the preachers who cheat their followers when he says: 13 “How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you won’t let others enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and you won’t go in yourselves. 15 Yes, how terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn him into twice the son of hell as you yourselves are. 16 “Blind guides! How terrible it will be for you!” In 2 Corinthians2:3:13-17, St. Paul cautions us about those who use the Old Testament to blind us from the real Truth and the Liberty which we get from Christ. It reads: “13unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
Lastly Mamastear, Know that St. Paul speaking about that liberty says in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “7 Each of you must make up your own mind about how much to give. But don’t feel sorry that you must give and don’t feel that you are forced to give. God loves people who love to give. 8 God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others.” So don’t let yourself be cheated by anyone tha you are obligated by any law or that God want’s you to give 10% of your income. If you find a person in needy circumstances, you may want to give much more not only in terms of money but also food, clothing, your time, and much more by comforting them, praying with them and generally encouragingand giving them hope in Christ Jesus. That is what is called liberty and what’s more! Jesus will one day tell you this:Matthew 25: 34- 36: “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35‘for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36‘I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” Halleluyah! Be Blessed.

You missed Matthew 23:14 in your quote:
14 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You devour widows’ houses and make long prayers just for show. This is why you will receive a harsher punishment.”
Speaks again to the topic of the widow’s mite, where she gave money she sorely needed because the priests told her she must. Jesus did NOT approve. As Jesus taught, give willingly of your abundance (which is what remains after seeing to your needs), but take care of your own needs first so you can continue to do the rest.

If Tithing is still mandatory and we are still under that law, then it’s essential that the law is followed to the tee just as it’s written. According to the word of God, every 3 years, ALL THE TITHE should be given to the LEVITES, THE ALIEN, THE ORPHAN, AND THE WIDOW who belong to your community. Are Churches that collect tithes, giving all of the tithes on the 3rd year to the above people? The key is ALL THE TITHE, not just a portion held back for other expenses. If not, are they too guilty of not following the law, and thereby cursed?
You can find the specific instructions regarding this at Deuteronomy 14:28.
I love how Tithing as expressed in the bible is truly a love feast. Food is shared among the brethern and the saints are encouraged to spend time with their families. What a blessing if we were to tithe as they did in the bible. Everybody, bringing a tenth of their food, clothing, Skills, and talents to share to the body of Christ each year. What a feast, and there would probably be no lack among us. We would fellowship with our God and each other.
Read Deuteronomy 14L22-26.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (AMP)7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He [a]takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].

My wife and I for nearly forty years now have been directing 10% or better as a Tithe and additional giving as led by the Holy Spirit. I believe we have tested Him as directed in his word to do. I can say with all honesty you cannot out give God. He has blessed our obedience as he said he would in his word, pressed and over flowing. Our heart view in this has been that it is all His, not just the money but all that we have. His to give or his to take. We deliver (I don’t like the word give here as it is His) the Tithe out of obedience as stewards of what is his. I believe he blesses that obedience. It’s by his Grace that we have what we have. Its by His grace that we have Life.

I have a question for Truthseeker. My mother in law has been studying or actually looking on the internet about certain subjects. I have to mention she has tithed her whole married life but now says tithing is not scriptual based off of what she found on the internet. She says the storehouse refers to the old temple and not about churches now. I however do not agree with her but can not find the scriptures about giving a tenth of tithe and where that came from. My husband and I give almost 20% based off of the Holy Spirit prompting. We have been blessed time and time again because of our obedience. My mother law said God loves a cheerful giver what ever that amount is. Whether it be 1% or more. I do not agree with that but need more help than the verses concerning Israelites saving a tenth of their stuff and bringing it to the store house after was it 3 or seven years for the Levi’s, widows, and the poor; the one about Abraham giving a tithe to King Melkazidek-sp; or in Malachi saying you will be cursed if you do not tithe. I was wondering where we got the tenth to tithe and where it concerns us Christians now in the New Testament??? She believes like Pat and Roxy in the posts above yours. Sorry I did not read the other posts until now. I however do believe in tithing because I see what happens when you dont and when you do. There is alot of false prophets out there, and I do not want to be deceived. Could you help me??

Hi, It is easy for you to find the truth if you are serious about being free. Read Deuteronomy chapter 12, and 14. Then read Numbers 18:1-3.
Read all of Galatians.
In Mathew 23:23 Jesus confirmed that food and animals grown and raised within the gates of Israel was still used for tithing when Jesus was here on earth
Tithing is a law given exclusively to the nation of Israel read Malachi 3:10 with Numbers 18:1-3 in mind. The old covenant and the new covenant made with the blood of Jesus dont mix. Law and Grace do not mix
S.A. M says
Tithe advocates are bible illiterates and cannot discern what Grace and the New Covenant paid for—our daily blessings free of charge via the paid in full work of Jesus on the cross.
They should also stop using Abraham’s one time tithe to Melchizedek. Here is what the bible says about this one time time
ROMANS 4:2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about–but not before God.
Gentiles were crafted into a New Covenant based on unmerited favor. God was not speaking to Gentiles in the days of Malachi and he told the nation of Israel to wipe out the Gentile nations not sparing any, It was only by grace and the paid in full payment of Jesus on the cross that we came into Covenant with God. Jesus fulfilled the law cause only someone sinless could. Sabbath rest and circumcision of 8 day of males and keeping the 7 HIgh Holy Days was also a mandatory law under the Old Covenant yet not one Preacher that I know mandates these laws, only tithe paying. James 2:10 breaking one law voided the whole contract and made you just as guilty as if you broke all of them. There were 613 Old Covenant laws and bible illiterates can read Leviticus or goggle them up if they doubt it.

This is sad. I attend a church that teaches tithing, and when I first started going there,I sat down with the pastor and his wife at dinner, and agreed that our hearts towards giving should be to put the Lord first. Its called the principle of the first fruits. We see this principle going all the way back to Cain and Abel.Although both gave an offering to the Lord, the Lord only found favor in Abel’s offering, why? Well the Scripture says that Abel brought the Firstborn of his flocks while Cain’s offering is not described as being the first portion of his fruits.Based on this teaching and others, I began to tithe, and let me say that if you tithe, then God bless you, keep it up! But the blessings that are taught to go with the tithe never materialized for me,I paid my tithes instead of my mortgage and other bills and now we are facing foreclosure..For over a year we tithed and gave offerings on top of the tithe at times.I walked out of a service this Sunday because the pastor was using Jesus’ parable on the shrewd manager completely out of context.I am deeply saddened because I do not feel as though my pastor is intentionally misleading people,I just feel he is mistaken. Why do tithe teachers take this one aspect of the law and throw the rest out? Well because they fear if they don’t teach it their money will dry up..thats a lack of faith right there..The bible says that if we stumble on even one point of the law we are guilty of breaking all of it,so that means if we eat Old covenant “unclean” food for example, then we are guilty of NOT TITHING even if we do tithe! because now we are guilty of breaking the whole law, because we failed at one point. When Jesus died on the cross the curtain was torn, and law was fulfilled in him,but prior to that moment in time the law was still in effect,so of course Jesus told the Pharisees that they should not neglect the tithe. To tell them otherwise would be telling them to be lawbreakers! When Jesus teaches on our hearts he makes clear that according to the Old Covenant,if you commit the act of Murder, then you are guilty of that sin,but now he says that if you even THINK about it,then you are guilty. The Same goes for adultery. You see its a heart issue. That’s why the Lord says “I desire Mercy, not sacrifice” Mercy is an act of the heart, sacrifice is an act of the law.The Old Testament by law states you must follow the whole law perfectly. The New Testament by Grace states that you must Love, for “all the law and prophets hang on this”This is why we see scripture that says “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” You know, if you want to be literal with the Old Law then you actually should be giving more than 10% because the Law says if you want to give money instead of grain or flocks or fruit you must add a fifth of it s value to it(Lev 27:30). It also says that when you bring your 10% you should enjoy it amongst your family ,exchanging it for silver and purchasing whatever YOU want to enjoy amongst YOURSELVES..Including, I might add, Wine or “other fermented drink”!(Deut 14:22-26) So why do teachers of the tithe who want to be literal about it neglect these passages?
Like I said earlier,If you have already purposed in your heart to give 10% 20% or whatever, then by all means continue to do so..you ARE being blessed for your heart of giving. And to anyone who completely rejects the principle of the first fruits then you have to check your hearts as well..Do you put God first in all you do?
I believe I was not blessed because it became a matter of law for me. I gave under compulsion and not from the heart. So in summary,I believe that we should give from our hearts according to our means( and by the way this means that you rich folks out there can probably give way more than 10%!)Jesus asked the rich young ruler to give ALL his money!Zaccheus gave 50%,and the poor widow gave everything she had left.Do we say because of this that we must give all? Or that we must give 50%?
Check your hearts..Put God first out of your love for him in your heart, not out of obedience to the law because you cannot be justified by it.
The reason I said up top that this was sad is because I see a lot of mean spirited talk amongst people disagreeing on this page,we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and we are called to Love one another. That’s how you know the difference between what a true Christian is and one who is trying to be justified by law.We give out of Love,we are called to Love,so lets start walking that walk.
Murutwo was Jesu says
If any proponent of the tithe wants to read the whole law, as given by Moses, then he/she read Deutronomy 14: 22-23 and note that they are supposed to use the money for a celebration with a family giving only a llittle to a levite, an orphan and a stranger whom you should invite to your house on the party day. So now kindly decide whether you’re a follower of Moses or a Christian. If you are a follower of Mosaid law, then you should follow all laws of Moses not just about tithing but also that which says you avenge yourself whenever you are wronged, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” On the hand, if you are a follower of Christ, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” if you were in similar circumstances. That is , come to those who need your help without compulsion.
Now, if you think that you will only be blessed if you take your money to church because your priest said so, you are just the fellow whom Jesus warned in Matthew 7:6 when he said. :“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces”
Dont let anyone cheat you that you can buy blessings from God by giving money to a Church. God has not appointed anyone to collect money for Him. Jesus says that whatever you do to a needy person, you do it for Him.
Read Matthew 7: 7-8 to know that you only need to ask God to give you and He shall give you freely. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” You don’t need to buy.
My wish for you brethren for this new year is that you be Christians not Judists, You understand that Jesus came so that you can be free of encumberances put in your way by people who want to enslave you by doctrine that was before the Curtains split open, and that you be compulsinate for those who are in need. God bless you all the The Grace of our God that is beyond understanding be with you now and forever more. Amen.

I agree brother. Whether we agree or not on tithe, let’s share in love. God commands us to do whatever we do in love. And I also agree if you believe that the Old covenant of Tithing is still in effect under the New covenant, you are obligated to follow the law to the tee or you are still disobeying the tithe commitment. Here are some key things that are outlined in the bible.
If Tithing is still mandatory and we are still under that law, then it’s essential that the law is followed to the tee just as it’s written. Curious,
At the risk of digression from the topic of this board, I would like to reply to your view of us and the disgust we cause you.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was not always understood by his disciples and many a times, when the multitudes he taught had gone away, his disciples used to ask him to explain what he had been teaching. Even when he died, the apostles were not agreed on everything and for example Peter and Paul had long debates on whether, none circumcised people would make good Christians or not. So, following the tradition established by Christians of long ago, us still debating. We do not hate each other as you seem to imply but that does not mean we are good either and this is why:
One day, (Luke 18:18) a certain man referred to Jesus as “Good” to which Jesus replied: “Why do you call me good? Only one is good; that is God”. So, if our own Teacher was not good, how can you expect us to be anything better?
So recognizing that we are far from perfect but willing to be perfected by the Word of God, we are always trying to understand it and to help each other understand it to. We may not always agree on each others viewpoints but each one of us ends up a more enlightened person. The Bible tells us to do exactly that in Colossians 3: 16 when it teaches us: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another…” I guess you understand that word “admonish.”
There is a verse in the Bible I would like you to read about pointing fingers at others, like you did to those who have made their contributions to this column: Please read: Luke 8: 9-14.
Please be kind and try not to get disgusted with this advice if not by me.
Lastly, I invite you to accept Lord Jesus as your personal saviour, so the Holy Spirit may dwell in you and teach you the will of God. If you do that, you will save yourself and your generations.

You see this was my point, this is very sad..Curious,if you want to know about Christ you should look to the Bible, not neccesarily to other Christians as what you see above happens all the time.People are so consumed with following rules and regulations that Love & Grace lose their place.(hey I made a rhyme!).
To Murutwo wa Jesu, I agree totally with most of what your saying, but I always had a different interperetation of what Jesus was asking when he said “why do you call me good?”
You see, I believe Jesus is totally good so in essenceIt was sort of a trick question. The emphasis is not on good, but you.
You can read it two ways, watch:
Why do you call me good? OR
Why do you call me good?
I believe Jesus was asking him if he believes that he (Jesus) is God, since he already said that only God is good.Kind of like when he asked Peter “who do you say I am?.
Just my humble opinion on the matter.
God bless

Tithes = food not money
For whom = lewites who had no inheritance not prophets or pastors
Purpose = so they could eat not get rich
Kept = storehouse not a church or bank
They neither owned land, nor houses, nor cattle, nor other property
Lewites had a responsibility for keeping order to the service of slaughtered offering for forgiveness of sin. They we’re not pastors, preachers or prophets. They ate the tithe, they didn’t spend it. They didn’t use it to purchase property, homes, cattle or clothing. The people made their clothing, specifically as instructed by Yahuah to Moshe.
Robbing Yahuah if tithes and offerings? Read Malachi again! He says they were giving spotted and lame animals, not torn dollars! The things they were bringing to the store house were not worthy of being offered. Kind of like we are today.
Is their any pastor receiving tithes a lewite Kohen? Look up the definition of Kohen in Hebrew. It is not the same as the word for either priest or pastor.
The taught ones were emissaries/missionaries. Yahusha sent them to go without provision. Why, because if you are sent by The Father, He will provide.
The natasrim believers of the first century sold ALL of their possessions, so that no one was without. Who is willing and ready to do that?
Yahusha is the final kohen! A kohen forever. Abraham didn’t tithe money to Mechelzedek. He gave him a tithe of his spoils from war. Not one thing that he gave him was owned by him.
Some argue that if Yahusha is the final Kohen then we are to give him our tithes. He’s not here to eat them. How many of you who tithe your money will plant gardens, farm livestock then butcher it, pour some of the blood around the slaughter place in the tent of appointment and then give the food to your pastors and expect them to be happy with their “tithe”? I guarantee you not one.
Its not about worrying about what they are doing with your money, its about worrying about what you’re doing with it. Are you taking care of the fatherless children, the true widows and the poor strangers? We have been commanded to do so. We have not been commanded to put money into a church building. That offering Shaul/Paul collected wasn’t going to the “church”. He was taking that money back to the poor believers in Yerushalayim/Jerusalem.
So by giving your money to the church are you following the commands of Yahuah to take care of the fatherless children the true widows and the poor strangers? I think not. Working for an agency that is federally funded, I come across extremely poor mothers on welfare, elderly women and beggars on the street everyday. If the “church” was doing what it is supposed to with your freewill offerings and almsgiving, there would be no need for HUD, DHS, or Aging Services, because the “church” would be providing for these people.

Hi Glen,
As I pointed out in my last post, I foresaw a possibility of digressing form the theme of this board and only reluctantly did so to answer the person named Curious. So, I shall only take a sec to agree with you that Jesus was all good but leave you with this excerpt from 2Corinthians 5: 21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. Please read this together with this other verse from Colossians 3:13 which says that Christ became a curse (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), so that he could redeem us from the curse of the law. Sin and Curse, are not good things Glen, and neither can one who has been made sin or become curse them be good. The good thing here is that it was not all in vain. By being a curse, he redeemed us from the law including that which required us to tithe.
Now back to the theme:
Galatians 4
4…when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
9But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?
21Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 31So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.
So Brethren, from the above excerpts, we learn that Jesus came to free us from the law: Through Christ, we are absolved of that curse and all others.
As far as concerns what a Christian should do with our gifts to God, Matthew 25:34-36 is quite clear. It also gives Christ’s own promise of the prize which awaits those who follow his instruction.
Be blessed.

I have been reading all of the “back and forth” about tithing. But, I’m going to put it in a way that everyone understands. I too was concerned about the issue of tithing. Losing my job reduced my income to little or nothing. I have been financially strapped for 3 years. I begged the Holy Spirit to enlighten me on this issue. “How am I going to offer a tithe when I have no money to give?” Does God really want me to be more in a position of lack that I already am? But, this is what the Holy Spirit revealed to me. We are no longer under the old law of Moses…this is correct…However, for everything that we do in free will, there is a cause and effect. The bible often speaks of sowing and reaping. Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.” (Job 4:8-9.). In other words, you reap what you sow. If you sow hate, you will reap it…if you sow love, you will reap love…if you sow money, you will reap money…Now here is the catch…”Paul’s statement to the Galatians is that one reaps more than he sows. In the parable of the sower Jesus spoke of the word of God, sown in good soil, as bringing forth 30, 60 and a 100 fold. That simply means that one grain of seed would produce 30, 60 or 100. This indicates then that in the natural, moral and. spiritual world, one will always reap more than he sows whether it is for good or for bad.”
My message to all of you is this… you can let the enemy take you down the road of bickering over the law (he’s loving every minute of this debate), but what you should be doing is taking God at His word. He does not lie like man and His word does not come back void. So, knock yourself out sowing those things in which you expect an 100 fold harvest…I plan to give like the widow in Jesus’ parable. Out of all the people at the temple, he recognized this woman’s giving…If my giving causes me to be recognized by God, (while I have nothing), what a blessing! Knowing that he is my Provider, I am convinced that He’ll take care of ALL of my needs…
The Widow’s Offering
Mark 12:41-44
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
