I have just released a page with quotes and links to sources of prominent theologians, pastors, evangelists, authors, churches & Christian organizations who have outwardly spoken against tithing. You can read the information here: https://www.tithing.com/those-who-disagree-with-tithing/
Here are some quotes below
“In contrast with the law, which imposed giving as a divine requirement, Christian giving is voluntary, and a test of sincerity and love.”
– C. I. Scofield
“I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare.”
– C. S. Lewis
“I don’t believe you are required to give a certain amount of your income. From my study of scripture, as i look through this, when i look at the New Testament; i don’t believe that we’re required to give this ten percent.”
– Francis Chan
“You know what’s wrong with the 10%? Number one, it isn’t biblical and it’s giving for the wrong reason. It’s giving to fulfill an obligation rather than a response to a loving, willing heart, right?Second thing that’s wrong with it is, it hinders what you could do by making you think you’re done. Giving is never to be by coercion. It is never to be by fundraising. It is never to be by compulsion. It is any gimmick is offensive to God.”
– John Macarthur
“give all you can, or, in other words, give all you have to God. Do not stint yourself, like a Jew rather than a Christian, to this or that proportion. “Render unto God,” not a tenth, not a third, not half, but all that is God’s, be it more or less”
– John Wesley
“But the other commandments of Moses, which are not [implanted in all men] by nature, the Gentiles do not hold. Nor do these pertain to the Gentiles, such as the tithe”
– Martin Luther

Arthur Tragg says
If a person who makes $20,000,000 gave 10% to his local church, and thought he was pleasing Jesus because his pastor wet his pants when he saw the donation, Jesus would laugh at his rear end. This was CLEARLY taught, by Jesus, in the New Testament.
wdr says
throw the 10 percent out the window and just give what your heart tells you to, then you will be free.
Joshua says
Pastor Why did Jesus Christ not instruct us to pay tithe
Mike Reynolds says
Praise Jesus and thank you so much for your hard work at setting people free from money tithing abuse!
Mark Brooks says
Many people tithe in ignorance of what the Bible really teaches. Do we need to really bring everything under the microscope? When I made it clear that I wasn’t going to give 10% of my income to the church, all I did was put a target on my back. (OR CROSS) The pastor then amped it up one Sunday, be telling the congregation that if you do not give the tithe, what you do give, does not matter. I felt my heart fall down into my bowels. So now when I go to church, I let them say whatever they like. I,me still free.
Freewillgiver says
Praise God Brother Mark! Please Stay free brother. Jesus gives us freedom in love. Also as Jesus leads you tell others the message of loving freedom you know. The last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Christian Tithing teachings obligates some Christians and entitles other Christians to tax members of Christ Body. The greatest followers of Jesus are the greatest slaves of Jesus. Preachers demanding 10% of others money sets them far above other Christians. This is a faulty way to preach the love of Jesus. Love dose not seek its own advantage love gives. Praise Jesus you understand more truth about Christian giving. Mark in closing again Please share your wisdom about Christ love to many people as Jesus leads you.
Thank you Mark for posting your story.
