Because not giving to the pastors in the church is a sin, the poor and the giving congregations lose, while the pastors collecting the tithe win.
Because leaglism and denominationalism is so strong, and the 20 thousand dollar organs in the church play along.
Because the church is considerd a building and the pastors are considerd preists. Congregations give to the rich and neglect the least.

Read the Bible in its original context. If you need help, ask (genuinely). Sarcastically developing your own theories and perspectives, that may or may not be Biblical, are futile. There is a reason that tithes, offerings, first fruits, and alms have been in existence for over 4000 years. God has a plan for all of it.
Remember, His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. You have to get beyond yourself if you are truly going to understand something of this nature.

Thankyou for replying. There is no sarcasim in my post. I think that Christian forced giving of 10% of their income to the local church is wrong. If pastors want 10% of their congregations money then they must ask and that is ok with me. Demanding the money by saying that money is a tithe required for Christians is wrong. Jesus and the new testement do not require tithing of money. The bible never required a money tithe. I just read all 40 scriptures in the Bible on tithing last month. You should do the same. After you have read pleas respond to my post I enjoy discussing the scriptutures.
Matthew 5:17-19: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. This scripture states that all the tithe, whether it be seed of the land, fruit of the tree, or one tenth of all that you earn, is holy unto the Lord. Deuteronomy 14:22-29 states that one-tenth of all that comes into your possession, belongs to God.
Why should we look for ways to excuse us from what we know we should be doing? Let’s be about establishing and not doing away with His Words. The tithe was, and is and shall ever be holy unto the Lord.

Are you commenting about biblical tithes in the bible or man made tithes made by greedy con artist to steal money from christians. Please read your bible properly before you support this lie deceiving so many good christians all over the world .
Deuteronomy 14 22-29 says I quote, at the end of three years bring the tithe of your produce (Jews within the Holy land) together with the Levites because they were not allowed to own any possesions and those who were poor sit down and eat the tithe not give it to anyone in paticular .
Another point is that it clearly states that if the way to the Temple was too far the Law permitted them to sell the tithes and for money and they could spent it on whatever they desired .

1, So the bible says at the end of 3yrs not weekly, because the law says that the jews were not allowed to harvest any fruit from their farms for the first 3yrs
2, They were allowed to sell the tithe and turn it into money that means money was not accepted for tithes only food and animals raised and grown within the gates of Israel.And they can spent the money on whatever their hearts desire .
3, The Levites were not allowed to own any possesions according to scripture, and the tithe was “EATEN” in the presence of the Lord ,not spent on holidays or expensive cars,houses …etc
4, Only the Jews were allowed by law to tithe no gentiles were permitted according to Numbers 18:1-3 .or God himself said He will kill them for going near His Holy temple.No Philistines, Amorites,Egyptians, Amalakites..etc were allowed

By promoting money tithes that Christ said in Mathew 23:23 that is included in the law of Moses Christians have unknowingly put themselves under the Mosiac law again. Paul clearly taught in Galatians 5:4 that if we practise or observe one part of the law for example circumcision we “NEED TO KEEP THE REST OF THE LAW GIVEN BY MOSES” or we are guilty . THat means we need to kill people who commit adultry, break the sabbath, kill rebellious children etc..according to the law of Moses
That means that the blood of Jesus was not good enough to redeem us from the curse of the law and Christ death is something of no signifigance or no real importance .
Lost and needy souls don’t come to the church because they usually have nothing left to give and it seems that joining a church requires you give or they don’t want you to take up space in their there.
I beleive that God requires you to tithe, you may not give it to all to yor local church, but you should tithe. If your local church is blessing you in any way at all, if your pastor is giving his blood in praying and fasting and if your church is serving your spiritual need in any way then you might consider giving your tithe to your local.

Gods missionary might as well be in your city, so find that missionary in your city, if you are passionate about your city find the missionary that blesses your city and bless him with your money.
If the offering plate bothers you, then make the beggars plate your offering plate, try giving with an open heart. Give to a beggar in your street with an expectation to receive, God owes no man, and I am sure you will receive something before the end of that week!!

Why are you being defensive about tithing ? If we were in the old testament times and I break the sabbath by walking my dog or going for a run to excercise, and you find out. The law of Moses demanded that I am guilty of sin and I have to be killed or I will bring a curse on the nation of Israel. Stop trying to water down what the bible teaches about the law before Christ died its deceptive and damaging to those who do not study the scriptures . Stay with Christ, do not go and try to revive laws that you have no idea about or its penalties.

I have never heard any pastor or teacher quote 2 Corinthians 8:12 from a pulpit before. That is how christians should give.
I pesonaly know a christian who gave a 100million US dollars to support the gospel because he can afford it but not many know because he does not go around and brag about it .

Read what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:1-10 , Paul meant if you keep just one eg: circumcision,tithing,sabbath, or any of the judicial,civil, or ceremonial laws you need to keep the whole lot or you are guilty and Paul added “YOU ARE CUT OFF FROM CHRIST” that is a nice reward for keeping tithing .
