David Cerullo Builds $4M Home While Staff Suffers Layoffs

Yep, another one of those fleecing the flock moments. This Report from USA Today.

“A religious broadcaster is building a $4 million home in a gated, lakefront community in western South Carolina at the same time that the ministry has cut jobs and reset thermostats in its new headquarters.”

You gotta read this story people. This ministry is expected to reach revenue of 100 MILLION! Not only have Inspiration Networks laid off workers but they froze wages and canceled contributions to employee 401k’s.

“If they’ve got these kinds of assets, does the state really need to offer … tax breaks?” asked Don Weaver, president of the S.C. Association of Taxpayers.

That’s a good question Don Weaver. I am all for the tax exempt status to be withdrawn from non-profits.

CEO David Cerullo’s new house includes more than 9,000 heated square feet, along with a 2,000-square-foot screened porch . . . And it’s shaping up to be one of the priciest houses in western South Carolina. On Realtor.com, just two homes in the greater Greenville area are on the market for more than $4 million.

These type of ministries are scams, just like Elevation church out or charlotte,nc. The Bible warns us of these type of people, they speak the words of Christ but are not of Christ. Even satan knows the word of God but satan is evil. These type of so call Leaders lift their own self up and live lavish life styles while others stare and are homeless.

Dis David Cerullo is gonna get his “tithe” someday in the back of a dark alley. It’s gonna be in the form of Karma…. What comes around goes around Mr. “C”.

why why why are people so stupid to be sucked in to giving money to these thieving bastards…….maybe start using your own minds???? forget about jesus and god for a minute and do a bit of thinking for yourself …then if you want to make these morons richer send all your money to them

    • Jen says:

Because he teaches that we must sow seeds daily, and that if we are ill or poor, it’s because we are not giving enough. They believe that if they follow this guy, and give him enough money, they’ll be healed of poverty, cancer, diabetes, etc.
Well, I was born with a birth defect. At one point, I thought my life was over! But I was wrong. God aligned me with all the right people, and I credit God with taking my disability and allowing me to adopt and raise my daughter.
I’m sorry, but we’re all going to die. If Cerullo truly believed what he preaches, why lay off people? After all, people just throw money at him based on his faith, so does that make sense? He claims to have been very good friends with Oral Roberts, but that guy died. Is that because he didn’t have enough faith? Or is it because this is a natural world, and God allows us to suffer and learn in this world, so we’ll be ready for the next?

Dear, you are blind and being robbed. Question, you write these people a check what are they going to do? Bury it? No it goes in their bank account. God doesn’t expect anything from anyone that can’t give. He is a kind loving God not greedy and that is what Cerullo, Murdoch and Todd what’s his name is about and that is about making themselves richer. Wake up and smelll the roses.

    • Brenda Johnson says:

He is another Mike Murdoch, stealing from people while Murdoch brags about his cars, about his money. These 2 will burn in hell for what they have done

  5. Chris Hensel says:

Mike Murdock Is David Currello’s pim and David Currello is a whore. Anyone who buys into obscure biblical passages to put $1000 toilets in these thieves homes should be detained until they understand what a charlatan is. Stealing is one of the commandments.

  6. John Davis says:

There are approximately 17K children a day losing their lives due to starvation. I’m sure that knowing that Mr Cerullo has his 4M mansion is source of comport for these kids as they take their final breaths….

    • Jen says:

Maybe he should sell that 4 million dollar mansion and sew a 4 million dollar seed to those starving children!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been steadily searching online reading about different churches and praying God will help me find a great church home and pastor. After reading these comments I know now this one is not for me. It is so hard to find a great church. I have spent a great deal of time trying to figure out the name of the big church near Indianland because an employer took our small team there to meet and have prayer (she was starting a new business) and wanted us all to go to have coffee and talk about our team and then pray. We walked out into the garden and it was beautiful. The coffee shop was amazing and I literally thought this would be a great church to attend. I thought services were held there. Thank you brothers and sisters for showing me a big mistake I would have made going or watching the broadcast. I am amazed and know in my heart the Lord would not like these things happening at this ministry. Oh well, back to searching and would love any suggestions about a great church home to settle down in (Charlotte area). I think for now I will worship in my home and watch Billy Graham sermons and The Way of the Master to learn about God’s love. The Way of the Master with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort is so great teaching about Gods love and the Gospel. Has become my weekly Bible study program. I’m so disappointed I can’t find a good church that doesn’t beg for money or preach the incorrect way of the Lord. Everyone please pray for me on this. I’m going through a tough time with my job and finances…but I know the Lord is always by my side and I will always have faith in Jesus. I hope everyone has a blessed week!

    • Keith Miles says:

Hello I don’t know you but it’s not a good idea to Worship in your home I mean I know you really want to worship God and I do too but I know it’s very important for us to go out in a ton of good church I know that you don’t want to put your money into did well and I kind of suffer from that as well always putting my money into the church where I’m not being able to reap the blessings but I finally did get a blessing from my pastor here in Lexington Kentucky my electric was out he got it turned back on so I can say my past and loves me enough to step out for me I know you want to work for the Lord I know you have a drive and desire to do that but I do and I would love to help you find a Church Home Care in Charlotte I don’t think they allow you to contact me to this website but if you want me to help you just respond to my message and you be bless I know by giving my tithes and believing God I can be a blessing to others

    • Joe says:

Hello I don’t know you but I don’t judge you. It’s hard visiting local churches and sometimes wasting your Sunday, when they turn out to not align with what your scripture teaches. Especially if you’re going by yourself. I haven’t found a good one near me and though I believe it’d be beneficial I do get tired of being judged for not just attending a bad church. Keep your faith, God is good, and He’s nowhere near as judgmental as many so called believers can be. Keep the faith, and keep trying as long as you can, but God won’t fore sake you if you can’t find a place to go on Sunday. I know this from experience.

    • Brenda Johnson says:

My mom was very much the southern baptist and believed in the old ways. She always attended church but as she got older she wasn’t able to. She said that she didn’t have to be in church to pray and God heard her wherever she was. Don’t search so hard because God will lead you to the right place.

    • Arsenio Dayrit says:

You will be disppointed to find a great church. Simply find a church that preaches the Word, exalts the Lord Jesus, ang have compassion on the helpless, homeless and hopeless of the world. Math 9:35

  8. SRW says:

You nay sayers should be ashamed of yourselves! Do not hurt the anointed of God! You will receive God’s judgement! And who says God’s people shouldn’t prosper? We are the inheritor’s of God in Christ Jesus and God owns the cattle on a thousand hills! You negative people who have nothing better to do than talk trash about God’s people need to shut your lying lips! God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him not seek trash talk!

    • Joe says:

Well then send your money to this wolf in sheeps clothing! If you took time to read God’s word for yourself you’d be very clear that he’s a false prophet, but like so many people, you want the Word read to you and will believe anyone who speaks a little truth mixed with big lies. Which is exactly how satan goes about keeping people away from the truth. You want money more than truth, so go sow your seed. For you, money in this life is far more important than eternal life, so try it, see how it works. Send this guy your hard earned money and ignore the haters!

    • Brenda says:

I will wait on God and not the anointed because the Ten Commandments says Thou shall not steal and that’s what these jerks are doing. They are about anointed as my dog.

    • Zed Cartwright says:

To SRW- In order to hurt one of God’s anointed that person has to be anointed. If they are teaching doctrine that contradicts original Christian doctrine then they certainly are not anointed, but are deceivers. Did you know that the word prosperity is not even in the NT.? Paul wrote a letter to a man saying Above all things I wish for you to prosper as your soul prospers. This was not Christian doctrine but Paul greeting an acquaintance, and prospering did not mean heaping millions of dollars on oneself while your neighbor in need did without. This single verse is used by prosperity/covetous preachers to say see here God wants us to prosper while their definition of prosper is utter selfishness/sin of covetousness that is equated with idolatry as this is what the lost world idolizes. How about reading I Timothy 6:5-21 to get a perspective as to what the sin of covetousness is, and therein you can see that these excessive money lovers are corrupt. Verse 5 says those who suppose (conjure up in their carnal minds)that gain (material gain) is godliness have perverted the word in order to dispute the truth, that they are corrupt and destitute of the truth and to withdraw/leave from them. Paul said godliness with contentment was great gain (spiritual gain patiently waiting for your eternal reward). If you have food and clothing (basic needs) to be therein content. This aligns itself with the promise that God would meet the NEED of the faithful. God does not promise to meet your GREED. Verse 5 describes the so called prosperity preachers that teach godliness is material gain and if you give to God (code for unscrupulous preachers/themselves) that you will be materially blessed. No where is that taught in NT scripture. God gives people talents at birth some more than others. From such talents and opportunities in the world system one may become wealthy. From this the faithful should give offerings in proportion to what they have received. The very wealthy should give more than 10% and the poor less. Giving offerings is a voluntary Christian duty of conscious from which you should expect nothing material in return lest it be a scheme in likeness to the con of this world wherein you are falsely promised if you give something up you will get more back. It is your faith in Christ that causes you to give, not an avenue to be blessed materially/profit. The blessing through faith is spiritual and eternal and therefore greater than the OT material promises/blessing of wealth for keeping the law of Moses. The claim that the Christian needs to be rich to materially bless others is a carnal rationalization not in accordance to scripture. If one faithful is rich they should be willing to distribute and communicate/share their abundance with others in accordance to I Timothy 6:17-18. Verse 19 mentions nothing about gaining more wealth for this charity but that it is done to lay up a foundation against the time to come (death) when they may hold on to eternal life. They don’t give to others to get more riches. SRW- you need to study your scriptures and stop relying on false ministers to indoctrinate you into a false concept of God, and convincing you that you are not to judge/discern their deceits. Stop regurgitating this sour curdle. Judging by the word of God is permissible because it is the word that judges not the messenger of the word. In other words if a man preaches a doctrine that contradicts scripture it is perfectly appropriate to use scripture to judge his teachings. If his doctrine does not stand up to scrutiny against the word of God then he certainly is not anointed by God to preach or teach. This is not personally judging someone to hell, nor stoning them, nor physically harming them in any way like in biblical times, but only discerning what is truth and what is lie according to scripture. Scripture says a spiritual man judges all things yet he is judged by no man. That is because the spiritual man judges according to the word of God making God not himself judge and only God can judge the spiritual man. Paul continually judged according to the word of God that came to him in the Holy Spirit. Just read his epistles and you will clearly see that.

  9. Maria Rainey says:

I know a lady from Northern Ireland who was taken in by Cerullo ministry. She gave them around £15,000. She never prospered because she was giving it to the wrong people. She had no money for her funeral and I phoned Cerullo office in London asking for help. I asked for £500. The CEO there said No that the state would Bury her if she had no money. That means a paupers grave over here. But a kind person bought a grave for the lady. Giving to wrong sources is dangerous.

  10. Nicholas Tholl says:

I am ashamed I vowed 58 dollars and then $1000 dollars believing Mike Murdoch guess GOD helps those who HELP THEMSELVES I haven:t seen GOD since 1982 most amazing experience of my entire life Gee do you think GOD will take my IOU?

  11. Mike sohm says:

No one here has the right to judge any human being god is the only judge. If you give god knows your heart. The Bible is truth and we are to tithe our first 10 percent of all of our income. Seek god. Above all things. God is in control of all things. Praise Jesus.
