i disagree. it is our job to call out these greedy, mammon loving bums out. If Jesus said, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, then how can a grotesquely rich pastor lead people to the kingdom of heaven?
When Jesus said It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God , He meant about the man’s priority about his wealth. You also can have jet plane and mansion if you don’t allow it to your head. Think about Heaven roads are made up of Gold and plarinum. Does God become so poor that other people of the world who don’t know Him as God , they all can have Jet planes and mansions.Why not His own children ? Romil, thank-you. I am very familiar with some of the people mentioned above. They started with nothing, they dedicated their entire lives to God, they stood on His Word, and God blessed them according to His principles of sowing and reaping. They have a strong faith and a deep love for God. Their “private jets” are strictly for the ministry, impacting millions of people spiritually and benevolently.
Poverty isn’t a money problem. It is a heart issue. You can love money and have none, or not love it and have much.

Romil and Elizabeth, o my how far have we wandered from Jesus to get to where someone claiming a regenerated spirit can make such statements that are so ungodly, and have nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus, our savior. I am pastor and founder of a ministry in which I have been blessed with the prosperity of doing five gang extractions of young girls and boys from blood in blood out gangs, meaning I got the hell beat out of me by ten or more men to get the release of these children, five different times. The Lord enables me to be rich with the power of His Spirit to continue to get addicts off of heroin, meth, cocaine, alcohol, and sometimes I have to go into a dumpster for food, because these who are the flock that God has ging to tithe but perhaps their love and their appreciation, their lives in recovery and being the mothers and fathers of their children again. But most Christians in America attack me and pastors don’t want to see me in their church. Because they know the truth that God rewards me with may cost them money. What a shame you seem to heap praises on weak pastors like those jet owners, who want the world to see them and hold up their banners that they are doing somethign for God. What a bucket of —-.
There’s a complete difference between raking in millions by selling services/goods in comparison to acquiring obscene luxuries off of widow’s backs using scripture that intended to take care of “ONE ANOTHER’S NEEDS“. But you don’t see that because of the blinders over your eyes. All you can say is, ‘don’t touch God’s anointed… don’t judge…we can’t see their heart’, etc. Your defense is that the jet is for ministry, the mansion is honorable, and the Bugatti is God’s blessing as widow’s and children go without. Sure, you can have a plane and not be defiled in your heart; but the bible clearly states the purpose of our giving and how it is to be allocated. The proportion of distribution is a clear violation of scripture. Regardless of scripture saying it’s wrong, the world even knows it’s wrong. The only ones who don’t see the error are people like you which makes you just as guilty in your compliance.

Because the preachers get their mansions by donations that are meant for the gospel . They don’t want to take an ordinary salery that the lay people get and save or invest like we have to do . They want it like NOW and want the ministry to pay for them getting it now . I’m not apposed to preachers having money , it’s about how they go about getting it . They think they are special because they preach , but they are called to preach because we are special to God and them too . We are all called to do something , but saying that the hand should be rich because he’s more special than the nose in the body of Christ is totally wrong .

Actually, that is not totally true. As believers we are called to judge false teachings; make sure our pastors are preaching the truth, and that our brothers and sisters are living according to the scriptures.
Examples:
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?” (1 Corinthian 5:12)
“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (John 7:24)
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)
And finally, ““If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.” (Matthew 18:15-17)

I truly believe we have lost sight of God’s “true” purpose. Matthew 28:19-20: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Where were these guy when Katrina hit? The WTC crash? The Tsunami in Japan? The tornado in Oklahoma? The earthquake in Haiti, Japan or Nepal? Why aren’t they using these “ministry’ jets for ministry? I don’t see them caring food or medical supplies or even bibles anywhere not even to those in need in this country, BUT they have access for their personal use. God is not pleased because we are not the light He intended us to be!

They were there. The media doesn’t capture every organization that helps out. I know that some gave $ multi-millions to various aids, plus food, supplies, and man-power. That is a big part of their ministries, and that’s what their jets are used for: spreading the Gospel in Word and deed. They are not used for personal use. They belong to the ministries.
Denise, do not take this wrong, but the fact that you have made an erroneous reference to Matthew28:19-20, and the type of error that it is, reveals one of the great problems that causes the divisions and illnesses in the body of Christ that is so evident specially in the American church. Missing from the word in your statement is that Jesus tells us to “make disciples of all the nations”. To disciple people is a very difficult task, it takes time, work, it is frustration, and usually does not bring in material rewards. I know because in the life that God has me living for His purpose, and with the people He has me serve, I do have a couple months of the year that the last week of those months I have to look through dumpsters for food. But it is my joy, for to be obedient and truly faithful and to experience the true changing of lives when people overcome heroin addiction, and other forms of bondage, to be able to hear others say things against me but know that we are getting the true victories. But yes, while seeing the things these so called pastors are doing with that money. Next time I am in a dumpster wondering if something is safe to bring home or not, I will think a thought of forgiveness for those lost arrogant and wrong teaching jet flyers.

Dear Abraham. It breaks my heart to see the scriptures so misused. I have been in the traditional church for forty years and have seen first hand the hatchet job that some who claim to speak and lead for God have done to the true meaning of the very scripture you now profess. Its likely not you fault as these teachings which refer to true worship, winning men for God, and an abundance of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom are now used for personal gain. As a believer it is my job and yours to study the bible as a whole. Sadly it has been gutted nod only the prime pieces are reserved for the pulpit. Jesus references to fishers of men has nothing to do with… self reliance. It is about capturing the human heart for God. Malachi 3:10 promises an abundance of knowledge, understanding and wisdom concerning an accurate knowledge of God. As far as ask and receive. What did Jesus ask for? What did the Apostles ask for? This is a more balanced approach to understanding the scripture.

They are called “private” for a reason. People in their own congregations are struggling on a daily basis. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:48. What was Jesus mission on earth? Did Jesus come to gather riches, or he came to save mankind? Jesus heal the sick, make the lean to walk, and make the blind to see. Every man of God that is mention in the Bible, had a special gift that was given by God and they perform their earthly duties. But today all we can see from man of God is to ask the poor to sow seed into their ministries so they can own private jets! How many of them today that are healing the sick, the blind, and the cripple? Jesus said go into the world so that they can know you are my follower.
Father, forgive those who judge, criticize and condemn others who have dedicated their entire lives to You, proclaiming Your good news. They certainly don’t know their hearts, and they appear to be jealous of their success and wealth.
If only they would grasp how much You love them, and how much You want to bless them too!

My friend, I can see that you are a very bitter man. I am sure you have no clue about the principles of prosperity. You don’t know what to do in order to be prosperous according to the bible. So you go about judging and attacking those who are practicing prosperity principles and seeing the results through God’s bountiful blessings. Suck it up men!!!and start practicing the word of God yourself, so you can see some results. The widows that do sow, do also receive bountifully and increase because it is an established principle for those of us who are born of God. It is God’s way of transferring wealth into the hands of his children. All of us have access to the riches of God and we are suppose to appropriate it by faith. Those with bigger faith do draw more while those with smaller faith do draw little but they all invest it again in the furtherance of the kingdom of God on this earth. You seat and talk because you have not been in their shoes, neither do you run the same race that they run. When you have the chance meditate on these scriptures: Proverbs 11: 24-25; Luke 6: 34-38. If you have been practicing these principles and you have not been multiplying, then there is something wrong with you. Maybe you need to start practicing some love of God because it means your faith has not been active because faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). Sorry but it is true.
Not sure why i’m even going to waste my time responding to you, but widows are poor, orphans are hungry, members are seeking financial help and you defend the scum of the earth that is robbing them to feed their own gluttony. If one can be a glutton in the bible for their obesity, then why wouldn’t it be the same for those who hoard money? These vipers are not gluttons of food; they are gluttons of money. And here you are sitting right next to their blobbery, slobbery, fat, sweaty, morbidly-obese figure defending how they stuff their fat pockets with more monetary glutton. If your referring to wealth and luxury as ” good news” then sadly your leadership has done you a great injustice. Jesus never perched such good news. THE GOOD NEWS is this. Just to clarify. Jesus had nowhere to lay his head because he said he is no part of this world. His duty to God was to NOT stay in one place but instead MOVE the message of the kingdom. Also.. Not one of his apostles were rich. The first church at Pentecost sold all their possessions and shared the money. Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell his possessions and give the money to the poor. My friend, most of the population in the world is poor, undereducated and forced into cheap labor. OH and the Bible is VERY clear on TITHING 10%…he’s also very clear that if you don’t you are robbing HIM not the church…and people want to get MAD because the preacher’s in force what the word of GOD already says!! people have a problem with it because the think it their money and worried about what’s going to be done with it ect. that is not your CONCERN…your concern is to be obedient to His word. he will expose the church is they are missing using it…trust and belive that and it’s usually small churches that are miss using funds, (Jesus preached to multitudes) so I’m leary of small churches (why isn’t God increasing your congregation?)But not all are called to preach to multitudes so I appreciate the church period big or small. The other reason people have a problem with preachers asking them to tithe is because they think well if I give this to the church the I can’t buy that purse of those shoes or new Nike’s or how they blame it on I have to pay bills…not trusting that God will reward them… GIVE and you shall RECEIVE!! and you reap what you sow (he’s talking about money) you sow sparing you will reap sparingly! He’s He will open the windows of Heaven and pour down blessing you can not contain (just buried In blessing) Where your treasure is so is your heart and He know’s money has a strong hold on a lot of people and that is why He ask us to tithe, so that money isn’t a strong hold..but don’t give to get…give because GOD said SO!
It’s a smoke screen of jealosy. John MacArthur can bring down $500k per yr, but you fundys never say anything. Jesus had a treasurer ..crooked, that didn’t seem to be poor. Hank Haanegraffer has fianaicial issue and that is forgotten. Their is abuse, but also a lot of persecution and judgment. No one puts a gun to anyone’s head to give and when John Piper can take off a year …that’s prosperity few in 3rd world can afford. SBC denom took in $200,000,000 for missions yet none of you are crying foul? Which is it only your pharisee group get to be rich ?
The difference is that the SBC leadership is not getting wealthy off of that money. The bulk of which is going to missions and missionaries. Not one person in SBC leadership has their own plane.
The point is that people give to these ministries thinking that it’s going to be used for the ministry . When someone owns several homes worth millions , several nice cars, go on several vacations and live lavish lifestyles , someone is paying for it. It’s the givers. My question is why do they have to have all of that luxury ? They say the Lord blessed them or did they bless themselves with a high salery . Now I know the board sets there salery , in some cases , but who elected their board. Why can’t they turn the huge ndown . The fact that they think they are entitled to live like the rich and famous is an indicated where their heart is. Did you ever ask yourself why a 500k house is not good enough for them. That’s a pretty nice home . Or why they can’t drive one 40k car instead of several a80k to 120k cars. We’re not talking about having nice things on Gods money , we’re talking about living in luxury at the expense of others.
I can’t give to any ministry when the person who is giving the word lives in million dollar mansions and drive rolls royces and Bentleys and not willing to put personal information about their income of what they make and where it comes from.if Joel Osteen says he doesn’t get a dime from the ministry but from his book sales and speaking then why can’t the rest. what’s to hide oh! For the people that let these greedy preachers interpret the Bible for you instead of studying the Bible for yourselves and doing word studies , the word rich in the Greek and hebrew was never refuring to money , and the word prosper was always refuring to a journey they was getting ready to take in hopes that their journey went well and didn’t encounter any difficulty . But you don’t like to study the Bible for yourself because your lazy and would rather hand over your money to these preachers instead of getting out and doing ministry yourself .

I’m not judging anyone , because I was into the prosperity preachers myself until I went through the battle of my life and didn’t have enough of the true word in me to get me over the hump . That’s when I had to get into the word for myself and stop just reading the feel good scriptures that they twisted . Most of you needs to read the Bible from the beginning to the end to see what the gospel is really all about , because you will see the whole plan for man and see that Jesus didn’t die to make little rich Christians running around preaching ,to make more people rich . The word rich in the Bible was never about money and you will see that if you do a word study and read the whole Bible.

Jets, planes etc are tools that give ability to preach the word across the world. Why is it ok for secular businesses to have them yet not pastors, Christians for spreading the gospel. If you truly believe that having luxury items are wrong then you need to think about never buying a nice car, owning nice clothes, having a nice car. I see so much hatred and judgement here and you need to check your hearts and see why you are so indignant and bitter? Certainly, we are to be led by the Spirit as to where we should give as like in anything there are people who misuse money however let’s stop judging the Body of Christ. As someone whom for years was in darkness and thought poverty and illness was honorable to God, I sought truth and the blinds were lifted from my eyes.
The difference between me owning a 20k car and tv preachers owning several 50k to 100k cars is that I didn’t ask for money for the gospel and then bless myself with several cars . if you can’t see the difference between owning a nice home and a nice car and even a ministry jet and .living a lavish lifestyle owing several million dollar homes and cars and vacation homes, that they bless themselves with out of the money that was donated for the gospel then it’s because you are coveting that lifestyle too and you know deep down that’s not what Jesus taught his disciples . Check your heart and read your Bible and you will see that Jesus didn’t die on the cross to make us all rich .
Also I might add if you have an imagination picture this . The preacher looking at the books and thinking to himself hmmm should I take an 100k yearly salary or should I take 800 k yearly salary ? Hmm I believe I’ll just take the 800k . But oh wait I’ll just appoint hand picked people for my board that I know will give me the 800k and do it legally .
Most of these preachers are older now and will leave all of their millions to their kids , that didn’t do anything for the gospel and some of them arn’t even Christians . But they would rather leave their money to their lazy kids then put it back into the gospel that the donations was meant for . ok im done now I got it all out !
Lynn i don’t know you but i do agree with you i have read the old testament of the bible and i love it, most of the people that believe in this prosperity doctrine have not read the bible and most of them go to church on Sunday when the true and living God Jesus only went in the Synagogue on the Sabbath, Paul who most of them say that they follow his teaching was not rich none of the disciple was rich like these preacher of today, see lots of people today are New testament Christians.

Most people who believe in the prosperity gospel is either too lazy to read the Bible for themselves or they covet the same lifestyle as greedy preachers or they might not have the intellect to comprehend what the word really is saying and don’t know how to do word studies in hewbrew and Greek . I’m not sure which it is , but it’s clear they don’t really know what Jesus died for.

IF your own son had no home to protect him would you buy a mansion? If your own daughter had no shoes to walk with, would you buy a jet?
To do such a think mocks Gods name. It is a dishonor and shows a absolute disrespect for the true hope that Christ professed. Jesus was not greedy. He loved the poor and gave them hope. Prosperity is a contradiction of that hope. It is a cruel and selfish teaching that says ” Those who have nothing to give must remain out of favor with God.” Disgusting!
Jesus said ” Follow me.” What do you suppose he’s saying Morris? “Follow my example.” This is what he is saying. So as to your question I will answer with a question. According to Christ example and the example of the Apostles… What do you think?
We are all called to do something . Is a preacher any more special because he takes a few hours during the week to prepare a sermon and then takes an hour to preach it on Sunday , then a lay person going from door to door handing out tracks and witnessing or going to a nursing home or jail wittnessing ? If you think that way than its all about numbers . The preacher witnesses to several hundred or thousand on a Sunday morning and a lay person witnesses one on one . Is it the number amount is what makes the preacher deserve to be rich ? Should the hand say I am better because he’s a hand instead of the foot in the body of Christ ?
Jesus said ” When you pray, pray like this.” “Give us this day our DAILEY bread.” Jesus taught that we ask for God to meet our needs while we are under this present system so that we are not distracted from our commitment to go out and preach the good news. We have to remember that Adam handed the right to rule to the devil. This brought devastation to all humanity. Our job is to promote Gods promise to put an end to Satan rule. This system will end and then what good will be the prosperity message. It is a distraction from the true hope and the true message that every believer is called to preach. God will put an end to all poverty, injustice, even death. No amount of money can accomplish this.
